...our good friend, Bill Simmons, indirectly supporting Greg Oden?!

28. Either the inevitable "a re-signed Greg Oden for Roy Hibbert and Dahntay Jones" trade or the inevitable "a re-signed Greg Oden for Marcin Gortat" trade, followed by the inevitable "Going back to Indiana could save Greg Oden's career" or "Phoenix's training staff could save Greg Oden's career" stories that will make me say, "You know what? I'm in on the Greg Oden comeback!"

AND THEN THIS...

34. Writing some innocuous joke about the Blazers that leads to a 375-post thread on Blazers Edge. Actually, I can still do that — what am I saying?

How is that support? He's making fun of us and Oden's value in the league.

Why is that people get so godamned sensitive about Bill Simmons in "Blazerland?" He writes to get laughs ... and he's pretty good at it.

Pound this into your craniums: "Bill Simmons doesn't hate the Blazers or its fans, but he does like page-views and hits on his website(s) so when you comment about and link to his stories he's getting exactly the reaction he wants."

Besides all that he's actually pretty fucking brilliant and if you aren't listening to his podcast or reading stuff at Grantland.com you're missing out on some really, really good stuff.

i enjoy about half his writing, his podcasts are boring as fuck though imo, i get lost with all the jersey shore/temptation island/who gives a fuck references

I just don't listen to those. I listen to the lines with Cousin Sal, when he has "experts" on, and I really enjoy when he talks to other ESPN guys like Wingo and Van Pelt in a more casual environment.

I can't get enough of Cousin Sal and Micheal Lombardi.
