This is pretty much where I'm at too... More of a Monta Ellis than a true 1, which can be fine, with the right roster construction.
I think we're going to learn a lot about how the front office views next season in the next few weeks -- acquiring a vet. PG, vs. standing pat with Simons, to me, is definitely something to monitor...
I think he thinks more like a point guard than Monta Ellis. I'm just not sure he can run an offense at this point. I just get this sense that from 23 feet in he can create, but dribbling over midcourt and being picked up on defense there might be a problem.
And yeah, I wonder if a guy like Trey Burke might be in the Blazers' future.
