I think people over exagerrate Slam's more recent content. Are the articles as good as they used to be? No. Does Slam still write a lot of solid articles? IMO yes. The only main complaint I have with Slam is they have to do a better job not giving the same old people covers all the time.
Yeah well they even said that in their latest mag. They said they are going to start putting new guys on the cover and not the same old guys. Hell, half the guys that have been on the mag more than once sometimes dont even deserve it (Sebastian Telfair). Although, Telfair did have one of the greatest slam covers with Lebron.
All SLAM does is hype young kids and blow up their ego's. They give the same 5 people covers because thats the only way they sell enough magazines to make money...

I get Slam, I read it from cover to cover. It's one of the better basketball magazines. I don't mind reading more about Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair, rather than reading about guys like Mike Dunleavy and Sasha Vujacic.
I love SLAM, it's a great mag. Did anyone get their 100th magazine with Michael Jordan on the cover, and the interview with him? Pretty damned good, and even though I don't think it'd be the best idea I'd still bet he's better than 75% of the players in the league, even at age 45 or so!
Yeah I think SLAM is great and they put young stars on the cover to promote their high school bball. But now that they have a seperate magazine for that, you will probably start to see more NBA stars.
