no that sounds good the heart rate thing is huge. I just bought a portable blood pressure test thing last week. Mayne i didn't need to if i had one of these star trek watches?
 
The Sense 2 has been pretty good. Theres a few minor bugs for them to work out, nothing major, just things like my watch keeps buzzing after I answer my phone. My wife is in the market for a new watch and originally she was waiting to upgrade the original sense to a pixel watch. Still unsure about battery life, how are people experience with that? I just got an email offer for $100 off a sense 2 upgrade but it expires today, so I am strongly considering just doing that for her. Looks like the sense will get Google maps support at some point, which was another big thing for me.

Has anyone tried the Garmin watches? They seem interesting and the battery life is amazing.

Garmin watches are excellent if you do a lot of fitness and hiking. The UX seems outdated compared to the Samsung / Apple watch (have not see the Pixel watch yet). I was really thinking about it, vs the Samsung when I got it, but the navigation access is too big of a feature for me to go that route.

FWIW, I tend to charge my watch every night (I can't sleep with a watch), in my case the watch usually has about 75-80% of the charge left at the end of the day, but my normal days are usually just exercise early in the morning, work all day, maybe do a walk in the afternoon and I am done. It takes more of the battery on the weekends - and if you do navigation for long distances it eats the battery. In our recent long-distance drive to drop a kid in college, I had one day when I got down to 10% at the end of the day.

I don't find the battery life to be that much of a negative. Just gotta remember to put it on the charger before going to bed each night.
 
For us sleep tracking is a big deal. We love our sleep scores. I read that the battery usage while sleeping is a lot less though like 10-15% drain for the whole night. So your battery reports sound doable, I imagine she could use her sense 1 in combo with it to fill the gaps.
 
I have an apple watch and use it to track sleep every night. Never had problems with the battery.
 
How are those pixel watches now that you've had them for a bit? Thinking about grabbing one for the wife for black Friday.
 
Ok, so got the pixel for my wife. So far so good, we will see if she can hang with the battery life. I feel like I am more likely than her to be able to manage daily chargings. If she hates it, then I'll get it and swap her for my sense 2.

One thing right out of the gates that I am really disappointed in is that you can't have two devices connected to your Fitbit account at once. WTF is that all about? Why would Google want to limit the number of their devices you purchase? I thought my wife's current sense 1 would be great to use as a supplement while the pixel is charging.
 
Ok so I got my wife a pixel watch and she hated it. I swapped her for my Sense 2 and I love the Pixel watch. Now that I've used both the difference is how much you want to be involved with your tech. Sense is great for just a fitness and sleep tracker that gets some notifications and other minor features, overall you put it on and dont think about it for days just charging it when you get around to it. The Pixel watch is pretty great but you have to take the time to set it up for your personal preferences, after a week I am still tweaking my notifications, aps and display. Keeping it charged is not hard for me, but was nearly impossible for my wife. Right now I am on 15% battery after charging it two sleeps and 36ish hours ago, that mostly due to how I have my settings set up. Personally I love the functionality for the Pixel compared to the Sense, but if your in the market consider what you want a smart watch for and potentially just go with the cheaper sense, unless your a big tech geek like me.

Mine is supposed to arrive this afternoon and now I'm even more excited. This is exactly what I want, can't wait to mess around with it all weekend. Can't wait to retire this Wyze watch, it's been good for the price ($40) but isn't even close to what I'm hoping for with the pixel watch.

I love new toy day! I think you will enjoy it, its a really smooth extension to my phone. I think the best battey life option is to disable always on display and tilt to turn on, both use a lot of battery and Ive found that I like to tap my screen or the button to wake it up better. After that its daily notification managment till you get it right, I only want like 1/4 of the notifications I get on my phone. Also there is a cheap screen protector you can get on amazon that I think is worth it, it just goes around the edges, looks pretty nice and seems to be really helpful for inadvertant bumps, as the glass goes all around the sides.

I definitely want to avoid bumps and all that. Which one did you pick up from Amazon that you mention above? So far this things is awesome though. Loving it.

It's a good idea, I cracked a Fitbit with an inadvertent bump. You get a clear one and a matte black one with this. I like the look of the matte black on it, it looks like it's part of the watch.
 
So it looks like my FitBit premium subscription either expired or google changed the terms. Either way, $80 a year might be more than I wanna pay if I can avoid it. Anyone have any experience with other health trackers for their watch? I have a Google Pixel Watch 2 and it's been great, but if I don't have access to the extrA data, what's the point?

I just got the new Pixel 10 Pro XL. Part of the deal includes $200 in Google store credit and since I'm a Pixel Superfan, whatever the hell that is, I just got a 20% off coupon code that doesn't expire for 12 mos. Thinking of getting a Pixel watch or a Pixel tablet this next Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

I'm very interested in what you think of the Google Pixel Watch and if you're going to be upgrading soon.

I like it for sure, but a lot of that was because of the Fitbit tracking that came with it. Apparently it's free for the first six months, but I feel like I had it a lot longer. Either way, it gives you a pretty cool weekly breakdown of your metrics, i.e. steps, floors, sleep, heart points, etc.

I think it's probably the best way to use the $200. I'm not a big tablet guy though. The pixel buds aren't any better than a mid tier Samsung or some other option. If your dad gets a credit too he should definitely get a watch, just for the fall sensor.

Fwiw, my old Samsung watch 4 is still going strong, I replaced the band at some point, but it still does what I want it. It certainly helped me get in better shape, as I said. I try to get into the highest heart rate zone for at least 5 minutes every morning (I exercise for about an hour a day), as I got stronger even running uphill didn't get me there, so I got a weighted vest and I do my morning walk and run with it, once again getting the right distribution of heart rate, and I sure feel a lot stronger.
 
Still rocking the Apple Series 3 but can tell the battery life is lacking after 4+ years of everyday use. Since I'm still using the iPhone as well, figure I'll stick with them but is it worth it to upgrade to the 10 or 11? I've read the sleep functions are really nice and the 10 made a big advance in tracking golf swings, which is pretty appealing. Anyone upgrade from the 3 and was it worth it?

Either will be a big upgrade to you; I'd buy the 11 and enjoy the better battery life vs the 10. If you use your watch for years, then it's best to buy the best now and let it age gracefully.
 
Still have my watch that I posted above from years ago. Use it all day every day, never had an issue. Unbelievably sturdy and reliable no need to get a new one.
