So, when exactly were you planning to acknowledge your erroneous interpretation of Net On/Off?![]()
Gladly. As soon as you come up with an explanation of the disparity between the OKC starters' and bench players' Net On/Off that is consistent with your hypothesis that Net On/Off is simply a function of how much better a team's starters are than their replacements. It's obviously not that simple. There are many variables and one of them is how a team's starters fare against the opponents they play against the most (opponent's starters).
If you look at all the variables and the data for all teams, I think you'll come to the same conclusion I have: that we're both partially correct. That Net On/Off is a function of both starter performance against other starters, and starter performance relative to their replacements.
If not, I'd love to hear more, but perhaps it would be better to move this back to the original thread.
