So do the Sixers still want Dame?

that's all true

but it is also true that as good (or as bad) as Dame's teammates perform, they appear to not have enough talent (& production) to offset bad games from Dame and get wins. The Blazers are too dependent on Dame's elite talent and need A games from him otherwise they pretty consistently struggle, especially on the road

In general, the team has not dropped off when Dame misses time. Call it sample size or easy opposition if you will, but it's all there is to go on. When he plays and plays poorly, the team struggles. So, I don't necessarily agree that the team lacks the talent to make up for an off game from him. It's that they defer to him too much when he does play in that capacity.

You've lost it. Dame's in a slump, so now he's worth less than CJ?!? Come on man! Hold it together, Dame will see himself out of this. Talk about a fair weather fan.
Have you ever suggested a trade? Does that make you a fair weather fan?

This post should be put on a billboard in downtown Portland and the posters name and address should be added so everyone knows exactly who posted this!
Is there any poster on this board that is quite this pathetic with the exception of Aldo?
There's a whole thread about Dame trades! Lots of people have suggested them.

He already has and it's not working.
Yep, all our losses, there has been a stretch where Dame "takes over" and misses like 6 or 7 shots in a row and we lose the game as a result. Even the Clippers loss. We fell apart while he chucked threes he used to make and the game slipped away.

Dame needs better players next to him. Players who are harder to scheme against.

You can't expect to beat teams with 3 or 4 all star level players with just Dame and CJ.
I'm all for trading CJ for Simmons for the reasons you state. Simmons would make us better. For CJ or Dame. And he's 25. Truth.

He wasn't bad in the Olympics until his injury. This year he still doesn't have better players than CJ. And nobody else is close. But he's running an offense that is trying to use those other players more.

All I claimed was that Dame is an All Star caliber player who needs another all star or two next to him of we want to compete.

If you don't think so that's fine.
As things are going, CJ will be an All Star. But Dame might not.

Almost nobody has the same quality of offensive numbers after they've stopped being the focal point of the offense.

The problem is that the other players aren't playing much better even though they are getting more touches. But that's because they aren't good enough.
Simons is playing great. The way he's playing, there've been times when he should be closing games instead of Dame or CJ but Billups couldn't bench Dame or CJ so he played them all and that didn't work either.

I don't know about that. Game 4 vs Nuggets, Dame shot 1/10 FG and we won. In fact, it was our most dominant win of the last two playoffs. Now the game where he had 55 & 10? We lost that one.

Nope. You're lost man. The only people suggesting trading Dame at this point are you and Aldo who has been saying get rid of Dame for quite some time. Now CJ? Many people have said that and there have been a couple "Blow it up" posts which would not mean to trade Dame but to rebuild around him better. Then on here you actually have the audacity to think CJ will be an All-Star before Lillard. This is 7 games into a season.

lol...c'mon man

I didn't say "absolutely always", I said "pretty consistently".

Wait a tic, I thought you were a taxi driver in Canada or some shit!?
My apartment is in NYC. I’m just on a 2 year sabbatical at my brother’s home in Washington. I’m a peer counselor at a mental hospital and am directing shows at the local theater. Still auditioning for TV projects. Next year, back to NYC.

if we trade Dame and Simmons is the best we can get. holy shit.

There is a really small theater in Portland called Imago. Obviously not anything on the New York level but we have fun going and supporting them.

How do you sign up for a sabbatical? Do I have to pay my bills when I take one? That would be sweet.

My 0% chance Damon trade. If you are going to dream, dream big.

If you're going to go for 0% fantasies, might as well find a way in which Portland get Giannis and Morant too. It's all just salary matching, after all, and Portland has plenty of salary!

Now that is just crazy talk...
