When they get big new contracts next season?

How much LMA and Batum earn compared to the stats they put up is some of your biggest complaints. When Dame, Wes and Rolo are making big or bigger money next year it will be interesting to see how much they are hated.

It'll just take one back to back loss and they'll be screaming for Conley

I have nothing against LA. Sometimes I wish he would take it more to the low post, but he's worth his contract. Batum is just complete dog shit and I knew he was not worth matching when Minnesota offered him that high contract. Wes' current contract and Batum's contract should be switched with eachother because Wes is playing more like a higher paid player than Nic "brick" Batum.

This was the contract that Bstum was supposed to take his game to the next level. His production is essentially the same now as it was in his 2nd and 3rd year - with a dash of vastly padded assist numbers.

He deserves to be bashed.

Truth...

Absolutely agree Batum deserves to be bashed. But we have done bashed him already plenty. At this point it is just beating a dead horse.

You can say goodbye to Wes. CJ or Crabbe will slide into his slot. Not with the same heart and fewer stats, but for a lot less $$$.

There's no such thing as a padded assist. It leads to a score. Dislike Nico all you want but assists are gold in the game of basketball.

i hope this was sarcasm. We are matching whatever anyone else tries... we took a risk giving him such a big contract to start. Now, after he outperforms that contract in so many ways, we let an injury prone cj and a budding (by then) 3rd year bench guy take the place of the heart of this team? that's asinine.

Who cares how much money they make? We (Paul Allen) need to give them whatever it takes to keep them in Portland.
I want us to keep the entire team and I'm not hating on Nic either, Nic is a great player and is perfect for us. The only reason I'd consider letting any of our players go is if it brings us a better player in return, money is not even a consideration IMO.

I still don't get the crying about Batum's contract. It's meaningless. The only issue that matters is would the Blazers have been a better team by not matching. I don't believe the Blazers had a hope in hell of replacing at the time what Batum gave the team. His points-per-$10,000 stat does not matter.

Yeah, what that guy said.

i would normally agree but rajon rondo is doing a damn fine job of making them selfish lol

Hey, Stevenson, you might wanna change your password here on S2... it appears BGD is posting under your screen name!

That would be a monumental mistake. Resign Wes, trade batum for a vet sf and a draft pick if that's the case.

Lets say all the players but Lillards production either stays the same or drops slightly, the first number is properly paid in my opinion the final is overpaid are the numbers I would consider "overpaid" but not to the point i'd bitch. If the cap goes up as high as some expect it then they would quickly go from Overpaid to either properly paid or underpaid.
Lopez 9-12
Mathews 8-11
Aldridge 17-19
Lillard - Anything we pay him is underpaying.

I don't think any of those contracts are high enough.

Lopez will make more than 12 million.
Aldridge will make more than 19 million.
Wes is going to pull Chandler Parsons money.

I could be lowballing them, still not used to every team have tons of capspace every summer instead of just a handfull of teams. I'd personally like to see the Blazers shell out nice contracts to Wes/Rolo and keep them even if its the top end of the number i listed or a little above.

Here's the reason why I think you're low: Marcin Gortat - 5 years and 60 million last summer (12 million a year) and I think Rolo is a better player.

And in regards to Wes, just look at what guys like Chandler Parsons got. 4 years at 11.5 a year. I think Wes will get at least 12 a year.

Parsons got 3 years 46m. Wes has some teams looking at him so a bidding war could go on and that would drive up the price to at least 12. Gortats contract seemed to come out of nowhere, I don't remember anyone thinking he was going to get that much but it could be a bargaining chip Rolo's Agent uses since they put up very similair stats.

Was it three years? That's even worse.
