Funding? They were not denied more security because of funding, it was denied due to ineptitude. In their last days, they didn't need more
security guards, they needed a Destroyer with a squad of Marines to come get them. That was not sent because of timidity, not wanting to
hurt any Islamist. Use of Destroyers and Frigates in this role has been standard operational procedure for over 200 years of the US Navy history.

Of course this is just US Navy history, tradition and tactics were lifted whole from the British Navy except for a few changes in terms, like Larboard and Starboard became Port and Starboard for command clarity. A few more changes of this caliber.

The largest piece of veterans legislation in decades — aimed at expanding health care, education and other benefits — was rejected Thursday by the Senate on a procedural issue after proponents failed to obtain 60 votes to keep the bill alive.

Wrangling over an issue -- veterans -- that often receives bipartisan support, the legislation died on a vote of 56-41, with only two Republicans voting for it.
