Sunday I was doing taxes and Turbo Tax had a flaw that cost me $720. I'll get my money back but I have to jump through a lot of hoops and it'll take time... But I was caught up in the heat of it when it happened and punched my laptop screen and it blew out. I dunno, maybe I was pretending it was an S2 mod or something and I was trying to exercise free speech....

So my wife made it clear a new laptop was NOT coming out of the general budget- I'd have to use my private stash. That hurt. All I had was about $350 and there's no really decent laptops at that price so I opted to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. I really don't care for tablets but it was all I could afford. It seems nice but the learning curve, for a non techie like me, is steep.

Does anyone know if I can transfer files to it from my old laptop (I can still get it to work by hooking it up to the TV) for Media Player, pics...

Thanks

I feel ya! Those S2 Mods suck!

But yeah, i know there's a paid software that lets you do something like that, but i can't remember the name.

I was wondering how it is you're a mod with just over 200 posts? Did Denny charge you more than the others or do you have something on him? And if so, what???

Nope! I applied and trueblue accepted me to the soccer forum.

Fixing your laptop screen is easy and cheap if your interested. Cost me about $60, followed a youtube how to video. Took me an hour, but next time I could do it in 10 minutes. Trick is to just order the exact same model number screen from a reputable online parts company, not the computer manufacture.

How do you only have 206 posts, but have been a member for 8 years?

NOW I find out!!!!!!

You could all be Mixum and I would have no way of knowing. That would be quite the elaborate troll.

Well, you found me out. I am every single poster here except you and I used to go by Mixum. This entire board is just 2 people.

I imagine you can use the USB and transfer files that way.

NOW I find out!!!!!!

Its all good, now youll have a tablet and a laptop if you get around to it. One more thing, if you dont feel comfortable doing the work yourself, a computer repair shop will charge about $50 and if you order the sceen yourself you will avoid their parts upcharge.

"Taxes"

LOL!

Wife walked into the room while looking at porn so you panicked and punch the screen.

Use Dropbox. You should get some free storage with your Samsung Tablet. Probably should have gotten a Chromebook as you get a lot of Google Drive space.

LMAO!!!! I'm sitting here dying laughing at work at this thought.... effin S2 Mod...

Smooth move. You were so upset by the error that you broke your computer. Which cost you more money.

Did you then subsequently punch a whole through the thing that cost you money the second time (i.e. your face)?

I vote for link 3 above since it has the best processor and you will probably appreciate having Windows 7 for as long as possible instead of dealing with Windows 8 right now.

Man, I think EVERYTHING I own almost is refurbished. Home computer, macbook, 2 HDTVs, used house, used cars, my wife.

So BeerBoy keeps telling us.
