This same lady has been coming up with all kinds of made up, ignorant things just to get me fired just because I didn't treat her like a queen or something. So eventually she succeeds because "the customer's always right" and the 'complaints' add up after a while. It just pisses me off because that's not how I wanted to leave.

Anybody else had a situation like this?

Ive seen it alot....is she a customer or an employee?

Sexual harassment again Smitty? You can't sedate Walgreen's customers and then rub your balls over their face...

Sexaul harrasment against men is on the rise big time....if he thinks hes being targeted, start keeping a log of what happens and when....you have nothing to lose at this point by documenting her behavior.....

Do you have one ear on the telephone while you are talking to customers?

Do you let other people interrupt your transactions with her?

Are you in any way not paying 100% attention to her when you begin dealing with her?

I've worked at a grocery store throughout college and people can be ridiculously rude.

Even if you pay attention to a customer 100%, the customer waiting behind them get pissed off if you don't acknowledge them too even if it's not their turn. Then you get some people getting pissed at you for saying anything to them. Then you have people haggling you for better prices, and when you tell them you can't and the prices are company set they throw a fit worse than a two year old would.

The thing that really gets to me, is when I am trying to check out, and the clerk of the whatever store has one ear on the telephone talking to their boyfriend/girlfriend. I'll start trying to ask questions or ask for something behind the counter, and they might catch half of what I just said. Also, if the customer behind me is rude enough to disengage my clerk from my transaction, I turn to them and ask them to wait for me to finish mine.

At the bowling alley, this guy was talking on the phone, basically screwing around. He saw me standing there for a couple minutes, waiting for him to finish. Finally, I said, "Put the phone down!" He did, and then told me, "sir, you need to calm down," all angry at me for calling him on it and embarrassing him.

ya my store doesn't allow you to be on the phone with anyone but people in the store for calling for item prices or to call for an item to be brought to the check stand.

It's just hard to read people, I've been told to kiss someone's ass solely because I didn't ask this old hag how her day was going (I generally always say hello to each customer, and sometimes ask them how they are, but not always), to being hit on by 40+ year old woman wanting me to shut down so they could take me home (in most instances I want to barf)

100% full attention. But for whatever reason I guess she wanted me to kiss her ass...and when I didn't that's when she started a whole bunch of bullshit.

That's another female that needs a kick in the ovaries(which prolly won't be of any use for her anyway..not even Legacy would give her some Yama the Llama action).

Thing is..even my boss knows she's just being a stuck up bitch..but thanks to the even higher powers, the customer is always right.

Customers are pretty unbearable most of the time. I'm glad I only have to deal with a handful a day. Don't get me wrong, a good majority are nice and treat you with respect, but the small percentage that doesn't can ruin your entire day. I'm actually really good with customers and I always do whatever they ask me to do as quickly as possible. But some come up to you with an attitude already and are impossible to please. I'm to the point where I give up trying to help people after I realize this is the case. I've even suggested to people that they do their shopping somewhere else in the future.

Yeah I'm the same way. But for some reason this woman had some personal vendetta against me..over something silly that isn't even that serious to begin with.

If she's making shit up, you might want to find out how legal that is- she could be harassing you. You could maybe also sue her for damages if she's getting you fired. Contact legal aid if you don't know any lawyers, or put it up on a legal forum- but leave out the misogyny.

Try working at Starbucks.

Eh..not even worth it. Job sucks anyway.

She must not be getting any at home. Try to see if she is possibly receptive to having an affair with you. Then, send photos of this to her husband.

She's probably not good enough for Smitty though, he doesn't tap just any woman, they have to be pretty hot for him to even consider...

Nah but anyways, that sucks to hear

I read your story a while back and it wasn't your fault at all. But based on what you have posted, I don't get the impression you really like your job that much in the first place. Why not just get a job somewhere else that you can enjoy more?

Anyways good luck. I'd feel pretty pissed off if I were in your situation as well

Don't give in to the customers if they're acting like douches.

Make a smart retort to your Boss (a really epic one if necessary). If he doesn't buy that, then **** that bastard, he has problems.

My only question is that if you knew this person was a problem, what stopped you from avoiding these conflicts?

I mean at some point I would have just known to expect this type of behavior from someone, and appease them for the 5 minutes or so that I see them.

The way I see it, you were too stubborn and that kept you from keeping your job

Yeah that is a pretty good point. I think you might have nailed it on the head.

I've been working at the airport for almost 6 months now, 4 days at the ticket counter and the other day at the gate. I see all kinds of customers, most of them are pretty good and understand whats happening, (with the delays, etc), but once in a while you get some customers that treat you so bad, even though you do your job 110%, for them you're doing nothing, so the best is to get done with them as fast as possible and end the suffering. I'm having fun though, I will be a pilot in a few years so I wanted to start from the bottom, and see how things work out "on" the ground, and get the experience.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Joker @ Jul 30 2008, 10:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>CK, how much do pilots get paid?</div>

Once you get done with the training, you kind of start at the bottom making lower 30s (thousands), and then in 3 to 5 years, depending on how the industry goes, and how fast you move up, you could either become a first officer for a bigger airplane or a captain for a smaller one and then continue climimbing the ladder, at that point it would be from anywhere from 50 to 70 thousand per year. Usually after 10 years on the job they're making 6 figures.

I love the industry though, being around people, airports, planes, etc. (kind of a dream) lol

Nah, I don't think it was an option. You don't really know the full story

I'll wait for Smitty to post it though, but he didn't do anything wrong. He wasn't mean to her at all.

That sucks. I'm glad I don't have a job in retail or anything like that. I used to work at a drug store, and it was so easy and all the people were pretty cool. Half of em made conversation whenever they came to me.

You should pee in her coffee. That'd be pretty cool.

You'd hate my mom. She shuffles things around AT the airport, so they don't go over weight.

Don't your fear plane accidents, hijacking etc?

Your boss doesn't believe you?

If it doesn't work out, work at Burger King!
