So It Begins (Covid)

Just stick a fork in this winter for sports and travel.....it's pretty obvious this is going to happen with more infections if we continue to pretend we're safe in publicly crowded environments
I agree that people have to stop pretending they're safe in publicly crowded environments. That being said, I don't know how these horrible high number of Omicron cases will affect hospitalizations but more importantly cases with long term effects and most importantly deaths. Omicron is obviously a much more virulent strain but I'm hoping (even though it's mostly effecting the stupid far more than those taking proactive precautions) that Omicron will be far less dangerous than any form of COVID that we've seen before. It's just a hope but there are some good signs when it comes to that hope.

So maybe just maybe we won't see a huge spike in severe COVID cases and resultant deaths... hell the average of 1000+ deaths a day in this country that we've been just accepting for the last four months has been a nightmare. If Omicron despite it's spread can take us under that level then people will go about their everyday lives just like they have been for a while now. I'm again just really hopeful that the early returns on the mortality rates from Omicron are an indication that it's much less deadly... I also really hope that if people are going to live their lives "normally" that they do so thoughtfully in regards to masking up and being vaccinated.

This is why overall health is so important. The more serious cases and deaths are still highly influenced by previous comorbidities. Educate yourselves, eat healthier, get more exercise, and take precautions. It's not that difficult. The overall health of our nation has plummeted and any random trip to the grocery store will reveal cart after cart of very low nutrition food.....the equivalent of which most people would NEVER put in their car's gas tank as fuel.

Put yourself in the best position possible to counteract this and any other virus.

Hey Adam Silver.....shut it down! These guys have families! Fans have families too. Stop the spread. The product is going to suck all around if it's all guys on 10 day contracts
CC my mortgage company and tell them to put a hold on my bills if they shut it down FAMS!
I just took my test 2 minutes after Nurk….. on standby.

This is why our country should take overall health more seriously as a nation and encourage healthy habits rather than offering subsidies for garbage food and fossil fuels and unhealthy work conditions.

We're waiting...

And if Mrs HCP gave me the 'rona I'm going to isolate with you two.

That's really not true anymore as the vaccinated are getting covid in larger numbers now
They went shopping and eating and out for entertainment....with an airborne virus what do people expect but those who have followed safety precautions will survive....it's going to be at least 3 more months before it calms down if South Africa is any example....

ironic given the spread and problems are continuing almost entirely by the unvaccinated.

wonder who those people support.

Dude everybody is getting covid vaccinated and unvaccinated. Now cdc is cutting quarantine from 10 to 5. Seems like after that it’s going to probably be none

Everybody unvaccinated will catch Omicron. Almost for certain. The susceptible will die then everyone will have some immunity. This winter was always going to suck. We should be good to go by spring /summer barring a more dangerous mutation.

Yup. I think this is truly the last time society is going to really take covid that serious anymore. By summer I think testing requirements and all that is going to be completely gone from a lot of places

Apathy has already set in on the Covid front. My daughter has been going to clubs, with Vax cards checked, and had no problems rise up. She goes to this country & western concert hall in Denver , and they don't bother with checking AT ALL. She got covid, and i have it too now. We're asthmatics. Luckily we are both vaxed, so the symptoms have been that of a cold for the most part. With weakness being the worst part. Her friend who came to visit us from Cali had already gotten the booster is asymptomatic so that rocks. Point being, apathy in keeping our(the club, us, people in general not wearing mask in busy areas) guard up is our downfall in this. Stay vigilant, & get vaxed. Iwish i had my booster, but i'm not eligible till Jan.
