So proud of our team

It's like you are intentionally ignoring that these teams are building their entire defense around stopping him and forcing others to shoot.

He's fool's gold. I'd rather ride with our cheap players and spend that money on inside scoreing and rim protection.

By the way Jeff Green is available. Any interest?

I bet the Knicks or Heat will drop serious coin on him.

I'd actually look at Deng if the market is getting tight and we have cap space. Don't wait until the trade deadline and they mythical unbalanced trade.

I knew we should have drafted Curry instead of Lillard but you guys wouldn't listen to me.

I also knew we should have drafted Thompson instead of CJ.

Or was it Thompson instead of Lillard and Curry instead of CJ?

Anyway, if we were different we would be better.

Deng and Horford would be tight!

Barnes has turned into a valuable role player.

Max money? Nope. He can't create his own shot and is a *maybe* a mediocre defender -- a negative DBPM, solid VORP though. Whoever lands him will overpay for what he does. Max money for him is an example of how weak the overall talent pool really is.

Barnes still shot 38% from deep, can post up, can finish, and his D looks much improved. But I agree..... I would hate to over pay for him.

He isn't even pyrite. He's cubic zirconium. He looks legit from a distance, but up close......
Mike Rice said it best: "he's gonna fool some team into paying him. Guys like him are tempting but they are traps."

Something like max money last off-season might have been defensible, considering the cap is going to skyrocket this year and next--in the new salary landscape, 2015 max deals will look much better. But a 2016 max for Barnes? No.

Y'all already know what the shirts say...

Look no further than Lillard. The system is built around him.

This is his third trip to the playoffs and hasn't gotten better in any single area.

In fact, he has steadily regressed since his rookie year playoff run - across the board.

So many things wrong with this.

I'm extremely proud of our team for winning at what is the basketball version of "Moneyball." But this offseason I want to see the payroll drastically increase, players added and this team move towards becoming a contender. Moneyball keeps fans interested but it doesn't win championships. Just ask Billy Beane.

I posted this before the series but deleted it because I didn't want people getting all butt hurt over the actual plot... But now we are down 0-2 so F it.

Curry, Thompson, and Draymond coming to Portland for games 3/4. The NBA's "Boondock Saints".

Peace Draymond, Portland fans are going to devour you and your BS

Oh yeah.... *NSFW*

Whole season has been crazy and once 4 of the starters left, I thought we were lottery bound like everybody else. These players really bonded and shined. 44 wins. Something this team wasn't near close to getting. As well as a first round series win. Tonight impressed me. As frustrating as it was, it was good basketball except for the 4th. Against one of the greatest teams of all time. Even without curry they are still the best in this league.

Certain people on here still wanna criticize dame and say he has regressed which is stupid to see and obviously you haven't watched all 82 games. His passing got way better. His decision making on when to drive and be aggressive got better. Yeah his fg percentage didn't really get better but his overall numbers did and he carried this team to many wins, averaging 25 and 7. he has become a great leader and a role model, great for marketing and the league. Only 25 and still can get better. Cj and dame will be the best back court for years to come. Pair that with big pieces we can get and we can become a contender fairly soon in my opinion. A couple pieces can be game changers and we got the money to throw around. I obviously don't think we will beat the Warriors but I am proud of this team and would take this learning experience any day over a meaningless draft pick that doesn't guarantee anything. This only makes the team and players within it better

I admire you for being able to be so positive after this game. I mean I know it's really encouraging how we competed with the champs on their court, but that's a pretty deppressing loss for me. After leading for something like 45 minutes, it's just a tough one to swallow.
But our future looks bright, I can't deny that. Going on the forum after the loss and seeing such a positive thread really cheers me up so thank you for that !

It's good that the Blazers got this far, they wildly exceeded everyone's expectations (except for KingSpeed), but also don't forget that the only reason we're in the 2nd round is because of injury, and the only reason game 2 was remotely close is because of injury. Portland is not close to being a contender.

The only reason our team didn't become championship-caliber is because of injuries. I don't give a shit about anybody's injuries anymore. Fuck them. Where's my Brandon Roy? Where is my Greg Oden?

Where's our Wes Matthews? I feel like even our Plan C was so close.

I actually am REALLY proud of the team.

I'm proud of Dame. He's playing his ass off right now, with a chest cold, sounding like shit...

I'm proud of the effort and the never-say-die attitude, from Dame to Davis. They're all busting their ass. Our team right now reminds me of that speech that Nick Nolte gives at the end of Blue Chips.

"The best coaching job I ever did, wasn't tonight. It was last season, when we were 14 and 15. We had a losing season. But god dammit those kids gave me their HEART. They gave me everything they had. They played up to the MAXIMUM of their ability. They gave it EVERYTHING. But, you know, it wasn't good enough. It wasn't good enough for me, it wasn't good enough for you, it wasn't good enough for EVERYBODY."

It feels like we're playing to the maximum of our ability right now, and it's just not good enough. That's fine. We're playing against the champs and one of the best teams in the history of the league. Nobody thought we had a chance.

Every emerging team that goes on to grand success has to endure some version of being carted out of the building toes up in disbelief at what just happened. As much as they are the worse for it, in an 0-2 hole and understanding the Warriors may improve if Stephen Curry returns from a sprained knee ligament as the series shifts to Portland on Saturday and Monday, the Blazers will actually be better for it.

It is something the Blazers have to go through to steel themselves for the future that will get even brighter if the smart, aggressive front office adds a rim protector and/or scoring at forward at center. Not that it will be a fun memory, but it can be beneficial moving forward. Nights like this can.

The Blazers got better and better against the Clippers, they made the right adjustments, and by game 3 had their number...now the Blazers have played better each game, and made some key adjustments last night and will for game 3...Warriors the Blazers have your number....Welcome to Rip City!
