Win the next 3 and we’re 8th no matter what LAC does in their other games. Denver loss doesn’t matter anymore.

I was wondering what happens if we beat LAC, split our season against them, we end up with the same record, what's the tie breaker?

Even if we win out (including beating the Clips which is a must at this point) the Clips can win all their other remaining games and we end up with the same record and the same head to head.

Two-Team Tiebreaker Rules
If two teams are tied, the following criteria are applied in order until the tie is broken: [1]
  1. Head-to-Head Record: Best winning percentage in games against each other.
  2. Division Leader: If one team is a division leader, they win the tie.
  3. Division Record: Best winning percentage in games within their division (only if in the same division).
  4. Conference Record: Best winning percentage in conference games.
  5. Playoff Conference Record: Better winning percentage against teams eligible for the playoffs (top 10) in their own conference.
  6. Opponent Playoff Conference Record: Better winning percentage against teams eligible for the playoffs (top 10) in the other conference.
  7. Point Differential: Higher net total points scored minus points allowed.”
Looks like if we beat the Clippers we hold the tie-breaker on conference record. We are currently 4 games ahead in the win column there. That Clippers game is gonna be HUGE. Bigger than @THE HCP ego.

We need to win all remaining games to play to take the 8th.

Go Mavs!

Wemby got injured but he needs 2 games to be award eligible. Will he play against the Blazers? Are the Spurs still motivated to win or has OKC secured the top seed?

Thunder's magic number to clinch #1 seed is at 2 ... meaning in normal circumstances he would be playing. My guess is he will still play up to what ever the threshold is for it to count as one of his 65 games and then they will pull him. It also means OKC won't have clinched the top spot by the time they play the Clippers on Wednesday, so in theory they should be motivated in that game to beat LA.

Impossible.

I think of it this way: If the Blazers beat the Clippers and Sacramento at home, (Giving Portland the Tie-Breaker)
The Clippers would have to go 3-0 against Dallas (tonight), Oklahoma City, and Golden State to end in 8th place (which is NOT the 8th seed!!! The 8th seed is determined by the Play-In.)

Also, the Blazer still control their own destiny. If they finish 3-0 they finish in 8th place at 43-39.

Pretty amazing that we’ve been 9th-10th most of the season and all we have to do is win a few games in the next week and we have the 7th seed (and avoid OKC til the WCF).

So when we lose to the Spurs tomorrow night, are we still “fine” whatever the hell that means.

As long as if we win, we're considered not fine....whatever the hell that means.

We arent fin. The team isnt good enough.

And everyone knows thats the truth. Glad I am the one that follows through and doesnt waste my time watching mediocre play!

I hope they realize in season awards aren't worth potentially aggravating an injury even more.
after anthony edwards went from doubtful to playing and crushing it earlier this season I rarely pay attention to those injury reports anymore.

We weren’t good enough in 2019 and I saw you at a game saying it was the best day of your life. Watching playoff games are fun even if you don’t win the title.
