I'm not sure. I didn't really celebrate anything. Being unemployed after 15 years in the workforce sucks.

Originally it was intended to have parades celebrating "the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations." And we got the idea from CANADA! Does it get more socialist than that?

Kind of hard to imagine "Labor Day" ever passing through congress in the past 25 years. "Tax Cut Day" or "Conservative Day" or "Get Rich Doing As Little As Possible Day," but actually celebrating people working and organizing? Seems antiquated.

I'd like to live to see a day when the biggest holidays were Earth Day, New Year's Eve and Veteran's Day. Those have always struck me as the ones that stand on their own merits and represent bigger ideas everyone can get behind--earth, rebirth and sacrifice. And it's pretty hard to turn any of those into consumerist extravaganzas (aka, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day....)

Police are still investigating, but it is pretty obvious that either his mother or his mothers boyfriend beat him up pretty good. He has a fracture on his skull, over 15 bruises all over his body and human bite marks on his right leg.

He is home with me now, but he is really shook up.

It's good that he's home with you. How are you, though? I'm not sure I'd be out of jail if I was in your shoes.

I am hanging in there. Crazy mix of emotions I have never felt. I want to murder this guy (figuratively speaking, of course) but I can't do something stupid and get arrested for it.

Trust me. It is really hard to not do anything. But the police told me to not do anything stupid because then my son would have to go to Foster care, because he is not allowed to go back to his mother. DHS, the police and everyone are involved.

yeah man. Bite marks on his leg. It makes me so angry and so sad at the same time. Who could let this happen to a 20 month old little boy?

Sad thing is, this guy is a cop. It is going to be hard to get him.
 
And I just want to say. I may be an asshole on the forum sometimes. I may say some crazy effed up stuff sometimes. I may pick fights with some of ya'll sometimes. But I promise to anyone reading this, I try as hard as I can to be a good father to my son. My life goal is to stay working and to be a good father to my son. I don't party, I don't go out, I don't do anything that could get me in trouble. I just love my son and I try my best to take care of him as best I can.

I have 100% custody and parenting time with him. I have never been in trouble with the law since after he was born. I am a good father and I try really hard. I don't date so he doesn't have to see women in and out of his life. I am staying single so he does not get confused. I feed him good. No sugars or junk foods. I teach him stuff. www.yourchildcanread.com is what we are doing now. Awesome program by the way for anyone with young kids.

I don't know why I felt I needed to post that... maybe because I assume that a lot of you think I am a prick (and I deserve it because I have been in the past) but I don't want any of you to think that my little man is unsafe with me. I promise, he is safe here with me.
 
I don't really put much into how someone on here acts, as to how they really are. Take for example Maxie, Shooter and Soda. I doubt they're anything like they are on here, in real life.

Wow, Dante. I've got a 22 month old. I'd.....man, I guess I'd do what you are doing. Or I like to think I would. It's the only smart, responsible thing to do.

But my first instinct would be to take my shotgun to his house and blow his brains out.
