So what the hell is wrong with Rudy?

Bad shooting, bad defense, and looks like hes not very into the game. Maybe hes just worn out from the summer but man... this isnt the same guy from last year. No emotion, just flat 3 point shots. Im wondering if he just is worn out, doesnt like the system he splaying in, or a bit of both. I expect some kinda comment from him soon. I have a feeling it wont be a good one.

I think it's a combination of things. Your idea of being tired is definitely one reason. I also think Miller coming to town hurts him somewhat. Miller is taking SG minutes away from him. I think it's the group of players he's lined up with as well. Just seem everything is off timing.

Well if you do, then play like it. Good play is rewarded. Bad play gets you pine time. We listened to it for 3 years with Sergio, and now he is on Sacramento, the worst team in the league, and can't get off the bench there. Rudy might very well thrive in a different system. But he surely could be playing a hell of a lot better here then he is now.

Right now I give Bayless an edge over him, and I wouldn't have done that this time last year.

I agree Rudy looked horrible last night even though is quick pass to LA was awesome. Rudy's shots were quick releases and he didn't square up nicely. Miller actually looked quicker on his feet. Perhaps Miller is getting better conditioned as the season goes on?

I think Rudy does need some time off. He seems tired and hard pressed to get any energy, especially late in the game. Why not give him a couple weeks off to get the wind back in his sails?

Rudy is a good player but he sure looks like he took the preseason off. If he's still having this much trouble come December I'll start to worry, but for now I'm guessing it's got a lot to do with finding rhythm and where he fits in the rotation when he's on the floor.

Right ... and I'm saying he looks like he took the pre-season off. As for his back still bothering him, it doesn't look like he's favoring it or anything when he's been on the court or when they show him on the sideline, but I guess it's possible.

I think I've seen enough of Rudy to remove him from the "don't trade this guy, he's got too much potential" list. He's a good shooter, an okay ball handler and okay defender. But he can't get his own shot and he's too frail to finish at the basket. I don't mind the guy, he's good for spreading the floor. But I don't think he's anything more than a 10 ppg role player. I don't see him "breaking out".

i think the only thing wrong with rudy is a lack of minutes and an ill-defined role. as far as i'm concerned, he's our second best guard. i think if he knew he'd play 30 minutes a night opposite roy, he'd be just fine. he can create for himself and others. he's a smart player with a lot of skill. we use him too much like we use blake: spot up and stand there waiting. for such a dynamic player, it's got to be frustrating. so maybe he's checked out a bit.
