A lot of teams could use a back up point, but just as many may be scared off bc of his character concerns.

ie The Heat, could use him, but wouldnt Riley hate him? ect.

I dont think he goes anywhere unless we are getting a decent piece back.

how bought this to blow your minds

maybe thorn is working out a deal for Ron Artest now that trade talks have cooled with him going to Dallas or LA.

Get him to a place close to home.

He needs to play somewhere he could stay motivated. The Clippers, Lakers, Golden State all looking for a back-up point guard.

Maybe we can get a couple of second rounders out of it.

This is really sad when rookie/sophomore who was complete bust for his time in the NBA needs any motivation... I mean come on, if what people think about you: "can't defend an atm with a machine gun" etc., your suckiness does not motivate you, what else will? Just don't deceive yourself - nothing will. I wanted him to stay for one more season just in case he makes peace with his mind, but if he's gone - no regret. none.

The Clippers,
Golden State
Washington Wizard (Antonio Daniels is always hurt)
The Spurs ( he doesnt play D but I can see Pop working on him)
Toronto
Phoenix

what character issues has marcus shown since he's been a net? do you guys just make this shit up or what?

you dont think its a bad sign that a guy getting paid millions wont get/stay in shape?

Besides the fact that he's never been in playing shape, he jacked up shots like no one else, couldn't "defend an atm with a machine gun", and in general was an absolute failure?

Don't get me wrong. He's had plenty of "HOLY SH!T" moments. Some of us are hoping that he's matured enough to actually become the player he can.

I personally don't think they are going to ship him out yet. We're thin at the guard spots and he could very well share those duties with Dooling. Dooling can be the combo guard, instant offense ala Barbosa or House, or while Williams can be a little more of a traditional point.

Timberwolves need a backup right? Their starter Foyle is injury prone anyway, never played a full season. Thorn can r4pe Mchale real deep.

i'm sorry what character issues again?? Your opinion he's not in shape is not a character issue. Your opinion he shoots too much is not an character issue, if it was RJ and VC would be in jail.

well, you need three PGs on the roster. I don't know why the Dooling signing necessarily dooms Marcus.

Dumpy come on, under Frank you really think Marcus is going to get any time behind upcoming superstar in Devin Harris, and vet Dooling... Marcus if he remains on the roster around the season opener, his going to be traded by the trade deadline.

He would get time if he plays well.

Based on all the ass he's sucked up until now, I think it's unlikely.

We could try and work something out with Golden State for Al Harrington

Careful what you wish for- McHale could send Twin back to the Nets for Hassell and Marcus Williams.

I would do that in a heart beat!

Another excellent veteran defensive player who has strong ties to the team, PLUS he's a ~$6M expiring contract? The only bad part about that signing is that he'd take away about 10-15 minutes from our young big men.

Marcus stays, Dooling gets the majority of his minutes backing up Carter at SG and occasionally playing beside Carter with Carter sliding to small forward. Marcus plays 16-18 minutes a night exclusively at PG behind Harris who should only see around 30-32 minutes a night keeping hin fresh and HEALTHY which has often been a problem over his career while simultenously raising Marcus's trade value.

At least that's what I would do.

Then again I wouldn't have signed Najera in the first place so what the hell do I know?

I can't believe people still have hope in Marcus 'scrub' Williams. I would rather have Elliot Perry.

We have 16 players, but we have 0 scrubs.
We have no players who would be happy staying on the inactive list.
All of them need playing time, and serious playing time.

Marcus will probably be traded. But why do you expect 1 for 1 deals?

I expect that along with our expirers (KVH, Stro, maybe even Hassell), and some other veluable assets (Sean and/or Boone, maybe Krstic too) he will be traded for a good player (a 2010 expirer).

we should get another vet SG and add Ager, or just a developmental player for Marcus. Think we can get the Clips Jordan?

If M. Williams plays well in Utah, makes plays for the young guys, plays decent D, and show some improvement, I think he is stays. I can see M. will getting minutes play with Harris, subbing for Harris, Playing with dooling in the second unit, and playing with CDR. People are too critical of him. He isnt that BAD.

Like someone said you need three pgs why go out and get someone else when you already have a cheap one. Is M. williams great? No. Can he be beter? yeah. Is being on this roster going to hurt us? Nah.

As far as scrubs on the inactive list, there are many candidates for that. Remember the IL has changed. It can be changed game to game.

why cant we just put hassell ager and swift on the I.L

Max of 15 players allowed for the regular season. That includes 12 man active roster, any players with an NBA contract that are in the D League and the inactive players.

so if we dump Vah Horn and make Hassel, Ager and Swift inactive why would we need to do anymore trades?

Marcus williams has no problems!?
