You actually paid money for "Kirkland" wine? I can see socks, but wine?
Yes I did. Generally speaking, I've been happy with Kirkland products and so I thought it was worth a try for a nice varietal. Ouch

Honestly, bottles of Rose are a lot better.
I've had a lot of bad Rose and some good. I know Napa valley wines and one in the Columbia valley and French wines in general. There are many excellent Italian wines but I am ignorant of which ones are good and which ones are bad.
Generally speaking and all things being equal, my wife and I prefer Cabernet Sauvignon. Decades ago I had a sweet Chevignon Blanc, when traveling through the Napa valley, that was so outstanding that I still remember it 50 years later.

I made the mistake of using a tax program that gives you a debit card for your refund. And so far, the IRS doesn't seem to think they have any information on me, so apparently I'll get it in 5 weeks in a paper check. Possibly.

Wow, that's kinda weird.

totally gonna not cash the check and frame it.

In 50 years, when I'm dead, my non existent children can sell the check for a heavy profit!

Apparently it's not an uncommon issue. Whats weird is, some people have already received their checks via this route, and others are in the ethos.

Yeah, I found out I made the mistake of not checking on the stipulations if you used direct deposit last year. I owed the feds, but the state owed me. Apparently if you owed and paid direct from your account, it doesn't count. Only if you received a refund. Looks like were gonna get a check in a year or two. Probably a retirement gift.

I'm in the same boat as you. I updated my info on the IRS site, but I have no idea how long it'll be before they provide me a "payment date".

Thankfully i'm still working from home, so its not essential for me and I can ride it out as long as the economy doesn't take enough to force the boss to make drastic decisions about overhead labor. How are you doing? Still working? I know you have mouths to feed. Hope all is well man.

Yeah, we're good. Wife and I both working from home and relatively secure in our jobs, so I've got nothing to complain about.

Think of the bright side. Your check will have Donald Trump's name on it. You can take a picture and frame the picture for posterity. Also, it shows you who to worship for yuor check. Ain't it great?

I'm retired with a secure income and can weather out any storm. Does anyone want to be adopted?

Yes.

And can I borrow the car dad?

I have two daughter in laws, one took a pay cut to keep her fairly new job as an office manager the other has been a stay at home mom for the last 9 months and is a manicurist. She went back to work before the shelter in place than got laid off. She gets her pro rated unemployment based on hours worked, and gets approx. 70% of the max, plus an additional $600 clear a week. She's making more than the other daughter-law who took a pay cut and she's doing the job for another gal that got laid off too.
Im happy for both and know that unemployment extra $600 is only through July, I think.
