I would've bet on Charlotte's #19, but I think things could be awkward with their new GM. Knicks at 17 so they save money for Chris Paul?

i bet none, maybe a late #1 like chicago at #30, or some 2nds

Clevelands.

Re: So... whose first rounder are we buying this year?

If a late 1st rounder is worth $3M in most years, we should pay only $2M in this weak draft or we've been gypped.

Re: So... whose first rounder are we buying this year?

Irony would be the New Orleans pick we conveyed to Charlotte in the Wallace trade.

Re: So... whose first rounder are we buying this year?

Bump.

Cleveland is actively pursuing multiple picks deeper in the first round, as are Portland, Houston and Charlotte.

I bet you anything you like, one of those picks is for Nikola Mirotic. Maybe Blazers brass feel they need 3 picks, because one will go on Mirotic (who'll stay in Spain at least as long as Freeland has) and another will be on a player with a BAD KNEE:

Boston College's Reggie Jackson hasn't worked out or even interviewed for any team because of a knee injury (jumper's knee). Miami at No. 31 appears to be his stopgap, but that won't preclude a number of teams from possibly selecting Jackson, including Portland (21), Oklahoma City (24), Boston (25) and Dallas (26).

Plus, apparently, if we stay at 21 we won't get a shot at Faried:

More teams in the lottery than maybe any other year were unsure about who they would select less than 48 hours before the draft. But the consensus among teams is that Colorado's Alec Burks, Florida State's Chris Singleton, Thompson, Morris, Markieff Morris and Texas' Jordan Hamilton and Morehead State's Kenneth Faried will be gone by the 20th pick.

I do believe that Faried will be long gone by the time we're picking. He's undersized, but in this barren desert of a draft, he's got one elite skill that almost always translates to the next level (rebounding) and that is going to separate him from a lot of other chaff.

If we do buy a pick I have trouble seeing us take multiple guys; I'm guessing it will be used to package with our 21st in order to move up to a spot where they can either be sure they get Faried or they try to catch "that one guy" who starts tumbling and represents too much value to pass up.

Whichever one we buy, if we buy one, I hope it's for Motiejunas. He reminds me of a young Sabas with the way he plays. His passing is exactly like Sabas', and with his international experience, he could step in and be a role player for us next season

Faried is no secret. I read that he may go top 15.

That's weird: he's one of the few players I hope we DON'T get. He's one of those "skilled but doesn't like playing" guys. I hate the term "motor", but if such things exist, he hasn't got one. Sabas could outrebound him sitting down. Sabas could outrebound him right now. From his easy chair at the home for retired alcoholics. He probably is.

I think he is worth the risk, but I agree with everything you said

Oh well.....when most teams are trying to zig, you might as well try to zag.

If everyone thinks this draft is going to stink, but you can buy multiple picks cheap, you *might* get lucky.

Nah......who am I trying to kid?

With all the threads you have started about yourself, we knew that already

Re: ESPN: Portland pursuing multiple 1st round picks

Weak comeback right there!

I figured you prefered them weak since they splatter on your belly instead of your face...

...oh wait, wrong use of the word.

Can you guys please stop posting stuff like this? If you want to PM a mod, then do so. If you want to wait and see if something gets merged, then that's great.

Repeatedly calling out the same procedural thing over and over within different threads is annoying. Thanks.

Damn, I really wish we had got Mirotic:

One NBA assistant GM told me he thinks Nikola Mirotic "would have been a top-10 pick had he been able to come to the NBA next year."

Jonathan Givony said:
He's ready to get minutes in the NBA right now. RT @IIIWoodD: how many years until Mirotic is NBA ready for the Bulls in your opinion?

Jonathan Givony said:
Very good first half. Spain up 46-37 on Greece. Mirotic dominating with 19 points, 4 rebounds.

That's twice the Bulls have taken a really good young Euro out from under us - first Asik and now Mirotic.

If Felton really does stay fat I'll be really pissed off: we could've had Dre and Nolan AND Mirotic (if we'd've kept the pick we got for Rudy).
