Regarding Pat's contract. Either POR or Pat's agent is probably trying to find a way to structure it so that he gets paid a little more (or hits certain bonuses) since we know he has other options...

Maybe he'll do something like KJ McDaniels did last year with Philly. Try to get out early so he can become a potential RFA next summer.

Maybe, but although he was disappointed that he didn't get drafted to a team on the East Coast, he already seems to be embracing the POR fans (on social media at least). Plus what better team to get playing time on right now?

That is entirely irrelevant. SL started for several Eastern conference teams before the end of the moratorium--before any of the draft picks could sign--but that didn't prevent any of the draftees from playing.
But... but... hyphens...

No I meant that an early out could be entirely financially driven, not that he hates POR or something.

Entirely possible. We would be in a position to pay him pretty well next summer (if our cap space holds - it looks like it will) but he would also have to have a pretty dang good rookie year for that to matter much.

Yeah. Pretty much every team will have fairly significant, so if he wanted to get paid.... But Portland will have the room to match.

I hope we keep Bogans around; he and Kaman are good player-assistant-coaches to have around.

Even with Dame's raise, we should have at least $20mil in cap space next year, as the cap rises that much.

We will sign Pat when Olshey is good and ready dammit
Yeah, why do people keep questioning the plan. Saying things like: "What is the plan?" will definitely get Olshey fired up.
