Driving from Anaheim to San Diego tomorrow to visit family. Any recommendations on a small cool little beach town to stop and hangout in on the way down?

Sent from my baller ass iPhone 5S...... FAMS!

Any home depot along the way should provide you with a lot of companionship.

Laguna Beach is pretty nice and probably what you're looking for.

Carlsbad is also pretty nice and has a shopping area.

I'd also recommend checking out Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. They have a strand of cool shops, big houses, and frozen bananas. You might even run into LaMarcus Aldridge.

Missio Beach is my old stomping ground . . . has a boardwalk . . . don't know if the roller coaster is still there.

Del mar or La Jolla if you want something a little more quaint

Oceanside is on the way down south.

Highly recommend Mission Beach

I know you like having your picture taken so stop at any of the beaches that offer whale viewings.

I live in Mission Beach.

Please don't invite the riff raff here

hate to date myself so let's just say lived there for last 2 yrs while I attended UCSD. Went from Del Mar to Mission Beach . . . some of the most memorable days of my life, but wasn't real good fro my GPA.

I now forget the street, but I lived about 4 houses from the boardwalk (between beach and that first main street) and about 5 blocks north of the roller coaster. I miss the place (and that time period in my life) just writing this short post.

Think I'll go reminisce for a while . . .

Where about do you live?

MAKE SURE TO WEAR A WHITE SHIRT WHEN SWIMMING AT THE BEACH. #mexico

All the easy ones are taken so...why don't you visit your beeeeeches and then go to a beach or something?

Late to the party, but I am a big fan of either the entire Encinitas thing, specifically GrandView or Swami's beach.

I'd suggest Playas de Tijuana, but they might not let him back in the country.

Rub bacon grease all over yourself and go for a swim off of Manhattan Beach.

Haven't seen you post in ages.

Complicated last 3 years. Things are calming down now, will probably do it a bit more.

I paid more attention to the Blazers last year, especially after Feb. when we finally got a new house and what seems like a long-term place to stay.

San Clemente, CA --> check out Fisherman's on the pier for happy hour!

NOTE: this is the epitome of a "small cool little beach town" -- the main street, Avenida Del Mar features tons of different shopping options and if you love bagels then the Bagel Shack is the best (beats anything I tried in New York even)!
