According to Quick:
Taking part in the scrimmage at the team's practice facility was Oden, Brandon Roy, Steve Blake, Jerryd Bayless, Martell Webster and free agent Dan Dickau, who is from Vancouver, Wash.

Oh, and Mo Lucas will be back coaching this season. I just don't see it as big of a deal as Oden and BRoy working out together. :devilwink:

Very happy to hear about Mo coming back. Its a sign that his getting better. But good news to see the blazers in town early and ready to role.

Dan Dickau!

I sincerely hope that nobody thinks this means anything. For the last few years, the Blazers have had numerous NBA players doing preseason workouts at the PF, including Dickau and Desmond Mason, who maintains a home in Portland at South Waterfront.

This is probably going to come across as cold, but I sincerely hope the organization has the team's best interests at heart in letting Luc' come back to coach. If he's not able to get on the court and work with the bigs during his recovery, I'd much rather see us bring in a guy whose use as an assistant is maximized. I love Luc' as much as the next Blazer fan, but keeping him in the fold just because you don't have the heart to replace him is disingenuous and doesn't get maximum results out of the team.

So I guess it'll be Oden vs. Webster banging down low. Welcome back Martell, and Godspeed.

When asked about it, Bayless denied that he was there.

I think you mean Desmond Mason. He married a Portland native and spends time here in the offseason and MB reported in his blog a few years ago that he was working and scrimmaging at the PF.

Love it that the guys are already getting together and hoopin' it up!

The rest of the returning guys will be coming in over the next few weeks. My question is, where is Andre Miller?

When somewhat questioned about this on Courtside, Andre said he takes his entire allotted summer time off. Claims that's how he's been able to stay as healthy as long as he has.

Ime is probably there too. He might even walk onto the team and be our starting 3 this year!

Gee, if he were a current Blazer player, he would be called "lazy".

Perhaps it could be argued that Miller has never won a playoff series because he doesn't work hard enough in the off-season. :dunno:

Right. Yes. Desmond Mason. Not the dude (Roger) from the Spurs. Thanks.

Or not.

"This is something I really love doing, and I'm really looking forward to this season,'' Lucas said, noting that Webster looked especially impressive. "I think this can be a good team, it has a good make up. Andre (Miller) will help the bigs, and he will be another ball handler and another guy who can penetrate. And our second unit can probably start in most NBA cities.''

I think Martell is going to have a really good season! Hopefully anyway!

DOes anyone else get a msg when they post that it's a duplicate and will send you to the original? I've been getting them the last couple days and have never got them before. I don't hit the send twice and I haven't just sent another msg so I don't know why I'm suddenly getting these msgs.

LOL. Repped!

Glad to see Oden continuing to bust his tail and Broy is there to push him. I can't wait for the season to start. I need something in this world that makes sense. Like an Oden two hand put back that leaves the basket shaking for a full 30 seconds.

Yes ... a recent problem I've noticed.

When that happens this year, I will squeal like a little girl, and my kids will laugh at me. I can't wait to see Oden progress this season.

I'm not getting that message when I post.

My only question with this is if LA's pending contract extension has anything to do with him not being there.

It would be interesting, and favorable if he was going to the practices and simply watching. But I suppose relaxing/unwinding is part of that healing process too.

Bayno kind of took over his job with the bigs last year already so I'm not too worried about it.

Martell looking good. I'm telling ya, I have that feeling about him this year. I think he and Andre Miller are going to give this team a real shot in the arm.

My only question with this is if LA's pending contract extension has anything to do with him not being there.

Probably. More than likely his agent is controlling the situation and telling him not to do anything until the contract details are finalized.
