Something that annoys me

I don't know why this bugs me but it really does for some reason. I've noticed that on people at my schools myspaces a lot of them are putting God as their main "heroe" in the heroes section when I know half of them aren't even Christian and don't prey or go to church or know anything about religion in the first place. It's like it's become cool to say your heroe is God. I don't know why but it just bugs me that people who don't even know a thing about religion put God as a heroe just because a lot of other people do. Then again atleats half of the other fads at my school annoy me also...

In American society being religous makes you look better. Why do you think all the presidental candidates focus so much on religion? A person being religous is a way that a lot of people find similarities in that person. Almost all people who hold a high office in the goverment are religous. American society just looks upon religous people highly.

The same reason why like 99% of athletes say 'I wanna thank god' when they win something. It's just for image's sake. If I ever become famous I won't thank god, I'll thank whoever REALLY helped.
