Well I went ahead and ordered these. Got 4 Play 1s and a Play 5. Absolutely love them. Whole family is enjoying using these around the house. Highly reccomend these. Can’t wait to finish the tv room and get a sound bar, sub and two more Play 1s to create the surround sound we want.
I just got 3 echos because I have apple and it syncs with it better for home automation stuff. The quality of sound isn’t near as good on the Echo but I was really disappointed that when using Spotify I can only listen to it on one speaker. Is it the same on the Sonos? It looks like Spotify treats the Echo’s as seperate units so it only allows me to be on one at a time.

Sounds like bose marketing has taken over for good. True audiophiles are a thing of the past. Multiple speakers playing the same signal all over the place is terrible for cancellation. A true audiophile will enjoy a simple 2.1 stereo set up.

Haven't been in years but they had a bose store at an outdoor mall in vegas. If you sat through the demo it sounded amazing. Of course they designed the demo to impress.

I've never heard anything Bose sound that good just playing music or a movie.

Nice. They're great, right? And I like the steaming services - we use TuneIn and Calm Radio a lot.

I have crazy amounts of music in our home iTunes library. So the whole families phones are pretty much loaded with playlists we are constantly making. I loved how easy the SOnos app synced with our iTunes. The kids use Spotify, but my wife and I just play stuff form our library. Loved the ease of setting up the network.

I've gone with Deezer, but I agree with the rest.

Bose is garbage. Midbass is almost non exsistant.

In fact, I'm no expert but my JBL 700 Bluetooth headphones (junky but loud?) killed the Bose equivalent at Best Buy. I bought them for the gym and the gym only by the way. I read reviews that said the opposite though.

I'll say that the Bose active noise cancellation is among the best I've ever seen....even moreso than my Sennheiser buds that were twice as expensive. For as much as I travel, giving up audiophile quality on a 6-14hr flight is worth not hearing engine noise and having babies and loudtalkers muted.

I am lucky, though, that I can afford multiple pair of headphones that are >$200.

Id choose any jbl product over bose anyday. Jbl certaintly isnt the best but they make decent stuff. All that said i have a shitty bose system in my truck but the air conditioned seats were more important than sound quality to me.

The noise cancellation on them is pretty damn good. Can't hear the music at the gym at all. And that shit would make me stop going.

Curious if anybody as joined the SONOS fam since I created this thread?

I added another Sonos speaker out on my deck last week. I now have one system with four speakers in three rooms and each room can play its own music, or it can play the same in all rooms. Very cool. And the audio quality is excellent.

Do you like yours?

We absolutely love ours. Family uses them everyday. Brought one outside for when we are in the backyard. They just sound amazing. Can’t wait to get more.

I have two ears, but multiple scenarios and utilization factors. You have only two feet...how many pair of shoes do you own? ;)
none that cost over 200 bucks...that's HCP....I have one good set of headphones that covers all my audio needs though...…:)

I own one pair 'cause I ain't no alien, although I've been accused by some of my victims of being, err strike that, associates of being akin to out of this world.

Aha, suspicion confirmed, yet another creepy alien with more than two ears.

I owned some Bose that were great. Wanted to upgrade and got a pricy pair of Bang & Olfsen headphones. Do not like them at all. Groovy looking, but a pain to use.

I like old school over-ear. What would you recommend?
