Not really a magnificent feast, burned out on opening home to strangers and never knowing who will show up so invited folks who have been here before.

A more "formal" meal not in the sense of formal food but we are having actual courses & sitting at table, not just setting everything out at once.

We are having salad from my garden, meat loaf (organic & grass fed), smashed potatoes, sauteed Swiss chard from my garden, biscuits, cheesecake.

Is a smashed potato different than a mashed potato?

Yes. Mashed potatoes are first boiled, then mashed until fairly smooth (I like a few lumps) with other ingredients, usually butter, sometimes olive oil, sometimes cream, etc.

Smashed potatoes are small red potatoes that are rubbed with oil and roasted whole until almost done, then smashed, topped with butter, and roasted until crispy around the edges and smooth inside. I add a bit of cream cheese.

Magnifique :)

Intense Debate

Hard hitting on Bernie no surprise

Bloomberg isn't getting off though

These people are a joke. What a mess. We’re gonna get Trump again because they couldn’t muster up a single good candidate.

Mods did a bad job, especially first half. Some good foreign policy discussion. Left off again, women's rights, climate, shredding rule of law.

Sanders seemed off. Biden pretty good. Warren good but IMO a mistake to go so much after Bloomberg again. Klobuchar did sound boring. Buttigieg had some good moments but also some muddled ones. Steyer irrelevant. Bloomberg better, he could hardly be worse, but still uninspiring.

We aren't voting for Fidel.
