@South East and I will be doing a podcast around 1:00 p.m. today. We'll cover how the Blazers have been playing but mostly go over trade discussions.

@South East has some swag to give away including a pair of Blazer tickets. We'll post the perimeters for how those will be given out once the show starts.

Submit your questions here along with specific topics you would like us to cover. We'll try to figure out how the Blazers can get Porzingis and Davis while having enough cap room to sign Kawhi Leonard or Durant this off-season. :biglaugh:

If you were doing it with the NW I might give a shit. Why would I care about the South East?????

;)

Sorry busy at work.

What's your take on what the Pelicans are actually looking for in a Davis trade? The conventional "youth and picks" package, or will they try to stay relevant? Obviously "both" is preferable, but if that's not possible, which direction do they lean?

Since Davis announced his trade desire, similar desires have been leaked/rumored about Griffin and Porzingis. Are there any other stars likely to make a trade request.

All 3 mentioned above are superstar PF's with injury history. Which would be the best fit in a frontcourt pairing with Nurkic?

Speaking of Nurkic, has the elevation in his play over the course of this season materially raised the Blazers' ceiling? Same question could be asked about Meyers' consistent bench production and Layman's emergence. Is this just a small-sample-size mirage?

I'd also like to hear your take on the starting SF question: are we best served with Moe maintaining that position, or has Layman shown enough that he should get the nod, even with Moe healthy? Or is the team better off with Layman coming off the bench as a second-unit gunner?

Regarding the second-unit, is it likely that the current Curry/Turner/Layman/Collins/Leonard bench mob is what we're going to see over the final 30 games? When rotations begin to tighten up in April and into the playoffs, which of those 5 is most likely to see their minutes reduced?

Why Marc Gasol? What does it mean that Olshey is reportedly trying real hard to get him?

I know this is does not directly involve the Blazers but do you think this Knicks / Mav trade help / Hurts the Blazers in terms of what they might want to do ??

Link should be up soon. It went longer than we planned....trade deadline shows tend to do that. We will do another one if there is a trade and/or one right after the deadline.
Sorry for giving you so many questions....

Sorry for giving you so many questions....

No worries, hope we covered them all. We did miss a couple of points on the agenda but it was just running longer than we wanted. Trade deadline is jam packed!

  • Recent Blazer wins
  • The Porzingis trade
  • - the trade reprecussions
  • All the Blazer rumors
  • How next year might be different for the Warriors
  • Upcoming 12 out of 17 on the road

We covered quite a bit

We covered quite a bit

All you need is @BonesJones and we got the makings of #RipCityTwo's first ever syndicated broadcast of BLAZERS INSIDERS. Maybe @HCP can steal us some equipment.

I'm sure @BonesJones is up for it...especially if he is in control of the mute button.
I'm certainly much more seasoned than when I first worked with SE a year and a half ago. I'd definitely be down to work something out in the off-season for TrueBlazerFan if you guys wanted to.

Hahaha that would be a hilarious name to go by. Kind of accurate too, I don't think Blazers Outsiders would have our level of insider sources. Then again, they work for NBCSNW (and we all know how Olshey can be).

I think we could have quite a good show. Between just enough Cap knowledge to be dangerous, a 'sauce' here or there, some anecdotal basketball history and no lack of opinions that can fluster most anyone at anytime, it would be must click podcasting. :noevil:

good news...I like new podcasts around here...my question would be "Who's the off the radar type targets you could see us picking up at the deadline? Not the front page guys but somebody not getting the ink in the media? in other words......affordable and needed

We didn't get to far down the non-headline guys list but did go over some of the names/types that we thought were more likely.

do you guys have a soundcloud link for it or youtube...etc? maybe you've answered this already

I listened for a couple minutes. Sounds professionally done. Not really into podcasts though.

Great podcast! Sounded very professional. A little bit of nerves perhaps in the beginning. You are both very knowledgeable and play off of each other well. A good mix of humor and facts. I will be listening to future podcasts.

@Chris Craig .....quite perceptive. It wasn't nervousness but I was thrown off by a phone call from a long time NBA source right as we were about to start. It sidetracked me a little and took me a bit to get back in a groove. I was trying to reorganize notes and web pages. PJ does a great job of hosting/moderating and that put me right back at ease.
