We have crappy internet (and, to boot, held hostage with no real alternatives) from our current provider.

I was excited when I heard about this forthcoming internet service being provided by Elon Musk's SpaceX Starlink company. I'm not certain when it will be available, nor the price, but anything is better than what we have currently!

Anyone else heard of these guys?

How's your cell service? Maybe you should get unlimited data and tethering from your mobile provider.

Yeah, I have. They plan to launch quite a few such satellites.

Satelite service has been around here for a long time...my friend lives way out in the woods and has it...it's terrible...electrical storms and weather can freeze it...not stable.and it costs him over 90 bucks per month..time will tell if Musk's system can avoid the instability of satelite service ..so far fiber optic cable rules for speed and service

I'm stuck in a situation where there is no (ground) competition.

The only time I've heard about this was when people reported seeing strings of light in the sky and it was apparently something to do with launches of fleets of these satellites, which are apparently launched in groups and then they spread out in orbit over the weeks and months after.

Don't be fooled. Those are space invaders and a good tin foil hat will protect you. I wear one and there's nothing wrong with me.

The truth is out there.

The truth was in our hearts the whole time.

Amazon is working on something similar, so one way or another it's coming. It's pretty exciting stuff actually. Buy TSLA and AMZN now eventually they might be two of the five remaining companies that own the world.

I'm waiting for them to launch servers into space so I can start Space Bank!

It won't have any terrestrial locations, all transactions done in cyberspace and stored in space so I don't have to follow any country or international banking laws.

Similarly, I'm waiting to deposit into Space Sperm Bank. Recipients won't be limited to humanoids!

Bank robberies will be rare
