What was the chick doing with the knife to Ceaser's penis?

But yeah, the taking of the city was awesome.

I was wondering the same thing, all I could think was she was cutting his leg while giving him a BJ?

...so, it was revealed as to what slave girl was doing with a knife to Cesar's penis -- couldn't have guessed THAT!

...most recent episode, "Blood Brother", was intense!!!

My wife sits in the living room playing on her laptop while I watch Blazer games or whatever on tv. Usually it passes quite well (we've been married 13 years, after all).

But I haven't watched Spartacus in a long, long time. It's the only program where I feel like she's constantly judging me for watching it. I think she'd have more respect if I bought some old Girls Gone Wild videos and popped them in the DVD player instead.

Tell your wife the only reason you're watching it is because it's your girlfriend's favorite show.

But the whole message of Spartacus is equality.. Do you just mean because of how explicit it is?

lol. The whole message is, "How much fucking and dismembering can we cram into a 50 minute fantasy?" Which honestly, I have absolutely no problem with. I think it's fun as hell. I think my wife mostly resents that it pretends to be more than that. Or something. Who knows.

You obviously haven't seen much of the show.

I've watched each episode at least three times and read a book about the Third Servile War that lines up well with the show. If you pay attention to the small things, more than just the blood and tits, you can see that's not all it is.

What you guys are talking about isn't even a "message."

What we're talking about is the primary reason people watch the show.

Where was that mentioned?

We're talking about mook's wife judging him for watching a TV show.

Reducing the show to just sex and gore is ridiculous. Maybe that's the primary reason you guys want to watch it, that doesn't mean your reason is everybody else's as well. I know it's not mine.

I'm not saying its yours. Just most people.

As Spartacus was slaughtering the Romans last night all I could think about was his message of equality.

j/k

But last night's episode was fun. I'm going to miss this show when it finally ends.

I didn't see that. Is it good? What's it about?

...yes, I thought it was very good. It's about Leonardo Da Vinci and his incredible mind, inventions, art, etc -- it kind of had a similar feel to the mad genius of Sherlock Holmes in a way. You know, smarter than everyone else and always scheming. And in typical Starz fashion they featured a nice sex scene or two. I will definitely be following this series as it unfolds.

.. Does he solve crimes?

...no, not like Sherlock in that sense. I just meant in terms of being smarter and many steps ahead of everyone around him. After the Duke of Milan is assassinated [secretly ordered by the Vatican] Leonardo essentially commandeers the Duke of Florence to fund him to start developing all of his military type inventions. He also ends up bedding the Duke's Mistress behind his back...but she has a secret of her own! The always evil Vatican is also behind a massive cover-up as they have stolen a crucial book of knowledge, "The Book of Leaves", and want to suppress this knowledge from the masses as usual. Da Vinci is implored by a mysterious Turk to seek out this book. And all sorts of other fast moving plot lines that they introduced in the premier, check it out!

Thanks! I'll have to check it out.
