If owners & or GMs are going to be handing out this special contract clauses like a no trade clause then maybe owners should have the right to have a few clauses of there own. For instance, Sure I'll give you your 5 year contract with a no trade clause BUT.......if you get banned for drug use the entire contract is null & void.
These players need to know that they have EVERYTHING to lose if they cheat.
You'll notice that I didn't mention the stupid opt out clause. This should NEVER be allowed. As in Grenke's case now. A 6 year contract that he can opt out after 3 years. Who thinks this shit up? I mean haven't these teams learned anything from the Yankees. (CC & A-Rod).
