I just posted Episode 2: Opening Weekend
I speed through the first 8 games at NBASpeed.com
Or
"Speeding Through the NBA Playoffs with Eric Millegan" on Stitcher
Check it out! I sat through 20 hours of basketball and put it all into a 15 minute episode!
Thanks for listening and I love your detailed response!I just listened to episode 2. I agree that the cavs/pacers matchup is going to be a long series. I wasnt suprised that Toronto lost game 1. Giannis is a hell of a player, and if Toronto wants to win this series, it's going to be over his dead body. I don't care for the Wizards/Hawks matchup. Its the most boring series to me. I don't care one way or the other. That said I would pick the Wizards over the Hawks. The Spurs/Grizzlies game didn't suprise me at all. There have been a lot of people saying it's going to be a good series. I don't see it that way. The Spurs dominated Memphis and I expect that to continue.
I was suprised and in fact caught off guard with Celtics/Bulls game. If I were told Friday that an 8th seed were going to upset the 1st seed this weekened, I wouldn't have thought it would be the bulls. My condolences to Isaiah Thomas. Losing a loved one is the hardest thing, and to come back and play game 1 after that...wow. my thoughts are with him and his family. I think the Celtics are still the favorites in this series. I'll look for them to be back in form for game 2.
I was most disappointed by the
Thunder/Rockets series. I was hoping it would be more competitive, it seemed at first like it would be, but the Rockets did their deal.
Though I was of course disappointed that the Blazers lost game 1. I was upset when I heard Nurkic would not be playing. A depressing moment. But, then I set that aside and kept the faith in my guys. The Blazers may have lost, but they played hard, they fought for three quarters, and were in the game till that fourth quarter meltdown. I thought Stotts did a pretty good Job through three quarters, but I feel he could have been more efficient and opportunist with his time ours in the fourth. He shouldn't have let the game get out of hand. CJ and Dame were great in the second half, but allowed themselves to be taken out of the game late by the Warriors. I hope Nurkic returns Wednesday and we destroy the Warriors. I liked your assesment about the MVP race and the game 1 performances of the contenders. I agree Kwai Leonard should win it. I like too that CJ was the highest scorer so far this playoffs.
Another thing I despise Draymond Green. He has by far the worst sportsmanship in the whole of the NBA. At what point does his celebrating become taunting? It seems he should be kicked out of every game, with how many T' s he deserves and should get. That said, I am proud of the Blazers for ignoring him and not being goaded. Though, I would like to see Nurkic teach him a lesson or two.
Thanks!You got it!
AND Calabro....Hey Eric you should replace Hurd
I love Hurd and thanks!Hey Eric you should replace Hurd
I think they'll pick it up once it's in the iTunes Store. That's what they did with my husband's podcast.I use "Pocket Casts" for my podcasts. Can't find it on there.
Thank you so much man!!! Could you please go to iTunes and write a review? I'd really appreciate it. And I love your detailed response here.Just sped through the first three episodes of "Speeding". Not bad. Enjoyed the commercial theme for the third one, although I think with a little planning you probably could have played that up a little more in the middle of the episode instead of just at the beginning and end (and yes, I agree with you that it's pretty odd that the NBA is exulting in the notion that they always have unsold tickets...).
I get the impression that you're going through the games in chronological order, but it ends up feeling kind of jumbled to me because I'm so used to thinking of the playoffs in bracket-format, top-to-bottom and west-to-east. Not saying that one way is better than the other, just that it's somewhat tougher for me to follow that way.
Keep it going, man--you're obviously starting to get a bit more comfortable (finding your groove, as they say) as you go along, so I'll expect the content, organization and transitions to continue to improve over the coming weeks. I'll be listening.
"Episode 7: Durant Is Embarrassing Himself" is now available on iTunes and at NBASpeed.com.
Who's next?@EricMillegan: Listen to Episode 8 of "Speeding Through the NBAPlayoffs with Eric Millegan" on iTunes & at NBASpeed.com
My brother guests for this whole podcast.
I'll work on it. When the playoffs are done, I'm going to just have a general podcast. I'm also producing a web series for YouTube where I play famous people one on one. Maybe I can get Nurkic in off season.Who's next?
The Weeknd?
Seriously, get Nurk to do your show and I'll listen to it. Until then....nope.
Extra bonus points if you vaguely make a pass at him.
