Not a great haul by Ott, which was expected considering the situation, but am disappointed we didn't get him.

I like Chiasson but at this point he's only potential and the prospects are nothing great. Hockeysfuture has Guptil in their "top prospects" list for Dallas and a grade of 7.0/C (talent level/probability of success). We have Fast, Duclair, Skjei, McIlrath and Bodie with that same grade. Paul is graded at 6.0/C and on the Notable Prospects list (not Top prospects) and we have 7 prospects rated either 6.0/C or 6.5/C.

I know Hockeysfuture is nothing great, but it gives us an idea of how the prospects project. I think we could have easily equaled or even beaten that deal and gotten the #1C we need, and right handed to boot.

I know, but 3-day deals can be done, just that they take more effort than what Sather is willing to put in.
