So one of my jobs currently is in customer service, I manage a winery tasting room. Yes, there are plenty of self absorbed assholes, especially when alcohol is involved. I have not only the right, but the obligation to cut people off, so when people are dicks, I take that as a clue that they've had too much. I do it in the most respectful way possible, but a good portion of those cut off feel like it's a personal insult. But the good thing is that most people who go wine tasting have their shit together so I don't have to step in too often.

I got cut off at a company christmas party once. I took it as an insult. Boss said open bar. Sure, i downed the first 2 quickly, but i wasnt a dick to the server or anything, quite the contrary i tipped him with my own money even though he was getting a fat tip from the company later. I tried to explain that a man of my size can handle quite a bit more but then i realized i sounded like a whiney bitch so i drank water until i could leave gracefully. People dont realize a 280lb man who drinks regularly can useually have 4-5 drinks before even getting a buzz. I got a buzz that night after the party when i went to a better bar.

That was my thinking but everyone else continued drinking, i just drank my 2 before anyone ordered the 2nd. Not my fault i was thirsty.
