Didn't feel much of an emotional connection when Han Solo died. But then again I knew it was coming because I read the spoilers.

People in the theatre knew it was coming and everyone was kind of frozen for a bit. Kind of awkward of a moment.

I'd heard enough to expect it was coming so I wasn't shocked. I just wish he would have went down fighting instead of whimpering and then being executed.

It was really stupid how they had to make it a point for him to use that crossblade when fighting fin.

Also it was just weird when Rey froze up and said "THE FORCE" or whatever whenever the Kylo Ren guy said he can train her in the Force...which was also a bit weird. Also how she knew all of the sudden about Jedi Mind tricks.

So what's the play here. Is Kylo Ren going to switch into a good guy eventually?

Who is Snoke? Is he reincarnated Palpatine or even Darth Plageious as people are saying.

Did Princess Leia have a stroke or something.

And I thought with all that buildup that Captain Phasma was gonna be a badass.

So weird when Kylo Ren shouted "TRAITOR" at Finn before they battled.

Man, I don't see how he comes back from killing Han Solo. I think Rey is gonna gonna get trained up by Luke and kill Kylo eventually. I think we'll find out that Rey is Kylos twin as well. Some people say that Rey is Luke's daughter, but I doubt that since we never saw a love interest for him in earlier films, not that that means anything though.

It was weird how similar it was to the OG star wars, with Han playing the Obi-Wan role. I think maybe Kylo Ren may get a final redemption at the end of the 3rd movie after some conflict.

So is Rey going to bone Fin? Fin has kind of a weird face, at least in the movie it seemed like at times.

They kind of rushed the end too, there wasn't THAT much of any realization that one of the most important characters in the movie died. I guess kind of like the reaction to Obi Wan dying in Episode 4.

I thought it was dumb that Han Solo went back to being a smuggler.

They need to chill out on the BB-8 too. Too much comic relief is distracting.

Adam Driver looks the part, but his speaking voice just seems wrong for that character.

I think Kylo Ren will be much more powerful next movie after the Snoke training as will Rey with Luke (who I think is Luke's daughter but I'm conflicted). The fight made sense for Rey to get the upper hand over Ren as he had just killed his father, been shot with a blaster bolt and got tagged by Finn. However, him hitting himself to fuel his pain was badass and totally batshit crazy. If he was 100% he would destroyed Finn and Rey with ease.

Back on topic to ep8, Luke will be trying to pull Ren back to the light as he knows it's his fault he fell to the dark. Luke WILL die either next movie or very early in ep9 at the hands of Snoke just as he finally gets into Rens head. Which will set the conclusion of Rey and "Ben" battling Snoke. OR Ren will kill Luke in an intense battle (Luke goes out Obi-Wan style almost) where he bests Rey early. Then set up Snoke wanting Ren to turn Around and kill General Organa who for some reason in my head will be in the same vicinity of this battle and watched Luke's execution (maybe she is trying to get off the planet/ship they are on with vital New Rebellion attack plans?) and Ren just can't kill his own mother. Snoke does it anyway with that OP force lighting and Ren who obviously is an unstable guy just snaps and goes for Snoke and fails yet survives. Which still ends in Rey+Ben vs Snoke.

Subplots I hope we get a Poe/Finn bromance as they are the main threat to that maniac Space Nazi Hux and Phasma (she should have an expanded role next film to give Finn a purpose).

The next episode will be more of a filler movie with the training and backstory of the 30 year gap followed by epic conclusion setting up series closure.

That would be crazy if Luke dies then Leia all of a sudden is a badass Jedi and kills whoever kills him in a battle (kind of like Yoga / Dooku battle where it was kind of out of the blue)

Star Wars blatantly borrows from itself and repeats shit. How many fucking deathstars or starkillers are you gonna blow up? There always seems to be a force sensitive young person living on a desert planet who is a good pilot who gets found by a droid, and then gets trained by a wise old jedi. A lot of people just wanted the series to return to the formula that made everyone love it in the first place and at least with this film it has. I have a couple of peeves about it, but for the most part it was great fun.

EDIT: actually I'd say Han played the Han role and Luke will actually be the "Obi Wan" of this trilogy.

Fuckin' nerd.

Csn we get some adequate training in this bitch for the Storm Troopers? Seriously, what the fucking fuck!

One thing I will a say about the new films. The original cast sure appeared "haggard." Phew. Harrison Ford looked like a guy who's going into collect his social security.

Thought Han could care less about the dark or light side? His son chooses a side so he goes back to smuggling? Then I am supposed to care about him when he is stupid enough to walk out on that narrow ass bridge? You cannot walk off those fuckers hand in hand. Two go out, only one comes back. That is the rule.
