...whatever helps you to sleep, princess...but sorry, you don't speak for everyone here, and I don't see anyone taking sides here, so stop giving yourself credit for something that doesn't exist. ....but to borrow a page from your book of irrelevance, "anyone who reads this can plainly see" that the "reset" had nothing to do with the original discussion, you simply and typically decided to change the crux of the subject only after you were called on your error...yup, when all else fails, just change the topic or the context of the topic...damage control personified
...and what in the hell makes you think that knowledge of something as simple as the lux tax reset is something that only you are privy to?...you're out on a limb as you often are and when you realize that you are, you go off on a different tangent. What's so fucking hard to understand about how the lux tax system works, and why are you even referencing it?...and if according to you, the money the Steins spent in 2013 has nothing to do with next year, why did you decide to first interject it into the discussion?
...in case you have conveniently forgotten what the argument was about and how it all began, let me refresh your memory...you initially stated that ARod's situation dictates "how much money they can spend"...(it doesn't)...and that they "did the same thing last year".(they didn't)...and that by doing so, the Steins "tanked the season"...(they didn't)
..."rtax eset" lessons?...lmao..stop kidding yourself and stop pretending you somehow are knowledgeable about things that you perceive others to be devoid of.
LOL. I guess you aren't quite "done yet" he? Knew you couldnt resist.
Here I will spell it out for you as you still clearly have no clue.
1. A-rod's salary next year is what 25mill? If he gets suspended, that money comes off the 2014 payroll, which means they can spend more elsewhere and stay under the cap. So yes, if the cap does matter to then, which it does, A-rod's salary very much impacts what they can spend. Hard to understand, i know.
2. My comment about 2013 was also very difficult for someone to understand when they have no idea how the cap reset works. In 2013 the yankees did nothing to actual improve the team because they were extremely mindful about adding payroll to the 2014 structure. You dont enter a season with a back up catcher and a back up's back up as your starting catcher if you are serious. So thats why you ended up with a bunch of has beens on 1 years deals, crappy trades for players like Wells, and NO catcher on this so called "championship caliber" team. The 2013 team was never championship caliber from the get go injuries or not. Any idiot could see that. So yea we can cheer how cashman foolishly spent 12 mill on Youk, and extended the relic known as Ichiro and talk about how they weren't holding back, but if they weren't, the upgrades would have been better to ensure a better product. That would have meant more significant multi year commitments impacting 2014's cap, which they clearly were not willing to do despiet the onfield product.
3. My comment was also a direct refference to those suggesting the yankees dont care about the cap and will blow through it in 2014 without a thought. I dont think that is the case at all, and its why you are hearing about A-rod's case potentially holding things up for the yankees. It's possible i guess, as is anything, but i find it very unlikley. Unless by missing the show and watching big bad boston win it all, they have changed their minds. I'll believe that when i see it in action.
4. Once again the reference to last year was to relate this years comments from Hal that the budged isnt a mandate, to last year when he said they will always throw a championship team out there. They didnt last year, so it stand to reason they might not again if it means forgoing a big time signing to stay under the cap. I think getting under that cap is simply more important than winning at this point for Hal, as his actions spoke far louder than his words last year.
5. I never mentioned how much they spent, the 2013 payroll, being cheap etc. Because its irrelevant to the discussion. 2014 payroll is what is important, and how it impacts the ability to field a true product next year without limitation. People wanted to know why A-rod deal could hold up a signing, that's why. And for the record, as usual, i never once changed the discussion. You did.
