He’s a MAJOR reason our young defensemen aren’t progressing as we would like. They see him with his reach and afraid of hitting opponents, going into a corner and being afraid to take a hit to make a play on the puck and instead just turns it over and they see him staying on the ice and then they do it. Marc was a decent dman until his pos brother cheap shotted him, was never the same player after that. The Rangers were quite generous to him over the years, he should keep it zipped. There is a striking difference without Staal's 6"4" sloth-like string bean body flailing about, constantly dropping to a knee to screen whoever's in goal but never getting a piece of the puck. Marc has plenty of dough to buy a comfortable seat in the box.
