Portland is seeded 6th; but is tied in the loss column for the 3rd seed. Utah is 5th; yet has the 3rd best winning %. The division leaders are guaranteed the top 4 seeds in the West. That means if the Northwest actually is the most dominate conference; we may see seeding being very skewed.

And how would that work? In the NFL; the division winner has home field. But in basketball; the record determines who has the HCA. So could a 6th seed actually play with HCA? In this scenario, it really could.
 
My bad. Clips and Spurs are ahead of Utah because of division. Like you said.
