Stanford v. UO Ducks Game Thread 11/17/12

Sinobas, you should know not to get your hopes up. We lost our chance at the game, we're Oregonians you should know by now that nothing lucky ever breaks our way. Just look at when the Blazers got the #1 pick back in '07, that's a perfect example of when we got our collective hopes up and started assuming luck was going our way.

I think you're going to end up playing Florida in the Sugar, which might be your best bowl nationally.

NC: ND vs. winner of Bama/Georgia
Rose: Stanford vs. Michigan or Nebraska?
Fiesta: KST vs. Clemson?
Orange: FSU v. Rutgers

Oregon will not be in position with only one game left (maybe two). We will drop to fifth or sixth in the BCS after this loss. It's over. Get it out of your head.

So we lost one game to a highly ranked team. But all the top teams could end up with one loss. Our games at OSU and UCLA (hypothetically) could endear us both to the humans and the computers. If it plays out like that, we have a legit shot at #2.

And don't forget that Stanford is playing a very good UCLA team in LA next week, they could easily lose that game.

UCLA doesn't want to beat Stanford, though, and that sucks for us.

How are you not getting this? The computers HATE US. We have no shot at climbing back into the top two.

It was because of our strength of schedule, which would change drastically after playing USC, Stanford, OSU and UCLA.

What makes you think we win the civil war game? Or that we could beat UCLA in the Pac 12 championsip? Ducks just got e-x-p-o-s-e-d!

But we lost to Stanford, and if we don't start playing better we will lose to OSU as well.

If we play like we did today, we may well lose to OSU. This Ducks offense went from literally unstoppable at USC to complete garbage today. I know Stanford has a good defense, but it's not this good. The Ducks just failed. Every team has bad games, and the Ducks could rebound. We have a very realistic shot at at least going to the Rose Bowl.

Everybody lost once, and Notre Dame's victory over Pitt was like a moral loss. Notre Dame ain't the best team in the nation, record be damned. I still think the Ducks deserve a shot at the national title....the offense just sucked ass today.

I bet we don't though, which is fine. We'll be free to play wherever we want.

This is what I was just saying on FB as well. Sigh I think we will have to swallow our pride and wait for next year to transpire. I am worried that Chip may bail though this year and move to the NFL, if that happens we're really going to be hurting.

I hope Tyner and Addison really step up next year. I'm worried about the Ducks offense, losing Barner. DAT looked so great his freshman year, and the first few games of this year, but has disappeared.

But they're making a new facility with a hot tub for Chip to sit in while watching game film!

Oregon still has a shot at the Natty

ND
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
Oregon

This SHOULD be the top 5.

Need ND to lose to USC
Alabama and Georgia will play each other in the SEC championship, so that takes one of them out
Florida plays at Florida St next week. I have Florida losing that game.
Then you need UCLA to beat Stanford.

It's a lot to have happen, but it's definitely not out of the question. Anyone that says "give up" needs to stop pouting.

And what happens when the BCS drops us out of the top five?

That's not the question, the question is what happens if what he says above plays out, and we beat OSU and UCLA, we'd have a good shot at #2 that's what.

Dude, we're Blazer/Duck fans... when in the history of the world has things gone our way in that fashion?

oregon effectively 4th, notre dame loses, stanford loses, ducks are in with either alabama or gorgia still, no?
