Stanford vs Oregon

the targeting call really needs to be shit-canned, or at least adjusted to eliminate ejections for inadvertent helmet contact.

Stanford won because of 3 Duck penalties on their last drive....and that doesn't count that non-called false start. The targeting on Thibodeaux was questionable but I guess you could justify it. The roughing call on Dorlus was bullshit, and the PI in the last timed down was total bullshit

Pac-12 official are the worst. I looked at the numbers yesterday, and out of 130 NCAA teams, 6 pac-12 teams are in the most 27 penalized teams. 8 pac-12 teams are among the most 50 penalized. And that is how it's been for years. They blow their fucking whistles way too much. There were 20 penalties in that Duck game yesterday

Completely agree. The refs did as much as they could to give the game to Stanford on that final drive. I don’t understand the targeting call given that there was an equally similar flag on Stanford that was picked up earlier. I thought both calls were iffy anyway, but they should be called consistently.

I could see the RTP penalty cuz of the placement of the awkward “chop” but even then, the officiating is going overboard on RTP’s these days. It should VERY rarely be called if the QB is not on the ground.

That non false start call was blatant and those refs should be penalized some way.

Right now, OSU is playing with more heart and pride than the Ducks. On paper the Ducks have more talent...but results matter. There's not much value in "talent" that doesn't translate to performance on the field.
Lol, on cue a Beavs circle jerk has formed

Is he wrong?

how do you gauge heart and pride from a TV screen? Sounds like a overworked slogan

both teams are 4-1, and Oregon owns 2 of the 3 best non-conference wins the Pac-12 has posted so far

the Ducks are just slammed with injuries right now, especially on defense. It's a MASH unit

RB: Verdell

WR: Delgado
TE: McCormick

OL: Forsyth
OL: Denis
OL: Sagapolu
OL: Walden
DL: Swinson
DL: Alfaese
LB: Mathis

7 missing starters and 11 in the 2-deep; and Thibodeaux has only played a couple of games

Nah - I just like good, entertaining football. (and on any given weekend I am rooting for both Oregon teams to win) For quite awhile now the Ducks have been putting a superior product on the field. This season the Beavers have improved and (IMHO) are more fun to watch. YMMV

The results lately though do bring up the question as to whether they are recruiting more for "talent" rather than heart, desire, determination.
That is what killed the USC dynasty. They continued to have some of the best recruiting classes in the country. They had great athletes but they didn't have enough dogs. Their athletes played like winning at USC was a given. It wasn't. I'm not judging the Ducks like that. But I will say the Beavers are all dog, like their coach. And it shows.
