Barzal needs to get suspended. Second time he's cross checked a player in the face these playoffs. Agreed Al, F the fishsticks.

That game went about how I figured the entire series was going to go. Impressed that the Islanders were able to pull out two victories but, the depth of talent is much great with the Lightning.
The Habs/Knights series has been great so far. Some awesome goaltending.

No doubt TB is better, but the Isles have a lot of battle in them, that's why I was thinking longer series - kudos to the Isles that they were able to get at least 2 wins I agree Grey. At this point game 5 might have been the nail in their coffin though, difficult to see them winning game 6 after the way game 5 went. I wouldn't be shocked because they are tough at home, and keep battling, but right now you have to give TB the edge in game 6.

As for the other series, full credit to Montreal for continuing to find a way. I see Vegas in 6, but at this point no shock if it goes 7. Kudos to Montreal as well.

What a comeback for the Islanders...wow! OT Playoff hockey is the pinnacle of sports!

Congrats to TB they have a hell of a team. Better than the LA team that beat the Rangers. Brooksie’s article today say McDonaugh played at a Conn Smith level, yes he was good and the Rangers got robbed on the trade but he did nothing here. He didn’t play like a Conn Smyth player here, he hurt Lundqvist and Zuccarello during the cup runs, he sucked during the 2014 Finals, etc. He won as as a 2nd pair defenseman and that’s all he ever was - was never a first pair which is why the team won nothing with him as captain. Also shows Gorton sucked , trading Miller and McDonaugh for nothing really

The Rangers definitely blew it on Miller. He has been a totally different player since joining the Canucks though so one could even argue TB fucked up with him as well, no?
Don't look past the other great trades Gorton made (Brassard for Zibanejad, a third round pick for Fox (FOX!) + a 2nd round pick the Rangers acquired from Carolina in a previous trade).

Strome for Spooner, Lindgren and a 1st for Nash, trading up for Miller. It is a long list of excellent trades made by Gorton. And let's also remember they got Lundkvist in the McD deal as well (that's who they picked with the extra 1st rounder).

That's not to say it has turned out to be a good deal, Howden and Hajek not stepping up their games sealed that fate, but Gorton made many move very good trades (including some steals) then bad trades. And if Lundkvist turns out to be a stud, the McD trade can still be okay.

Can't knock Gorton for trading a guy they couldn't afford in McDonough. Miller, on the other hand was seriously undervalued in the trade. Bottom line is if your boss says to toughen up the team and you acquires Rooney, Blackwell and DiGuiseppe as an answer it's time to go. I liked Gallant's press conference and I'm hoping he comes here with a chip on his shoulder, seems like Vegas quit early on him and Florida was downright classless the way they fired him. He has to be thrilled to get such an opportunity with so much young talent.
