Only 2 pre-season games in so far, so there will be plenty more opportunity for evaluation, but based on what you've seen so far, who do you think is the best choice for the starting small forward spot?

Personally, I'm a Harkless guy, not just because of what he brings to the position and the starting 5, but because I like Turner and Crabbe as a pair off the bench.

The Turner/Crabbe combo is a nice mesh off the bench. Their strengths/weaknesses complement each other fairly well. I'd like to see those two play together a lot.

I agree as well ........and also for the fact that Harkless compliments Aminu best, since Chief is not the biggest of PF's.

I do want Crabbe finishing games though, and I am sure he will on most occasions.

Before the preseason I had Turner pegged, but he and Crabbe are to valuable to the bench to start at the 3 full time. (Though I think we will see each of them start at different points of the season, depending on who we are playing, ecetra.) Harkless has the green light to start the season at the 3.

Honestly, I'm shocked this is so one-sided so far.

Some players are better starters then coming off the bench. Harkless better player starting and what see Crabbe better coming off the bench. ET I don't think it matters. Will let see who start tomorrow that might gives us idea who will be the starter at start of the season.

I like Mo being out there with Dame and CJ.....he is the hustle guy. I like ET and Crabbe out there together. AC can spread the floor and Turner can be the distributer and control the offense which is his obvious strength.

I feel like Mo plays better when he starts, he seems to take a lot of pride in it and he's a great fit with Dame and CJ. He doesn't require a lot of shots, but he'll get open corner threes and hustle baskets. He does fit really well with Aminu defensively too. However, I'm interested in seeing Mo come off the bench with ET. It would be interesting to see if Turner elevates Mo's game by finding him on his sneaky baseline cuts, which Mo is very good at.

Intriguing Line-ups.
1 Dame
2 CJ
3 Crabbe
4 Aminu
5 Plumlee

2nd unit
1 CJ/Shabazz
2 ET
3 Mo
4 Meyers
5 Ed/Ezeli

It'll probably be Turner since Crabbe and harkless have had their chance.

I like the idea of trying to get off to as big a lead as possible by the time the starters begin to get rested. In other words, play the best 5 players out of the gate.

Dude, you know with all the Rookies talk - remember where you are in your forum career, you are pretty much the Christopher Zane Kaman of the board. You might have been useful in the past for 5 minutes of relief for the starters, but these days are pretty much gone (and I liked what Kaman brought to the table).

Mmmm.... I don't know. Who's the best in your opinion between:

  1. Harkless
  2. Turner
  3. Crabbe
IMO it's Harkless > Turner > Crabbe

Mo is easily the best defender (IMHO Crabbe sucks on D).

You also have to take fit into account. Who fits best with the rest of the starters?

Defense is the main reason I don't think Crabbe should start. And Turner and Crabbe are a better fit offensively.

I'm not sure whether to the this as a compliment or crack.

So, Crabbe at the 3, Turner at the 4, and Moe at the 5?

That would actually be really fun to watch. That lineup may not be great at stopping the other teams bigs from scoring, but the other team basically has no chance of stopping us from scoring.

Mo would start if it's my choice simply because he's a two way player and I think you need defense to build an early lead...Turner I don't use at the 3...Crabbe has good chemistry with the bench mob and will take on more of an offensive role without Dame or CJ on the court
