But i think thats hos target. I think he knows vets are harder to keep here.
Vets want to go to actively contending teams
Evans is on Indiana.

Mdidnt they fonish third in the east last uear? Not saying they were actrue contender, but based on the national media we are a frimge playoff team.Evans is on Indiana.
Tyreke went to Memphis for $2.5M in the summer of 2017...But i think thats hos target. I think he knows vets are harder to keep here.

Those aren't Olshey type of guys though. James Johnson had been arrested for domestic violence and even though the charges were dismissed he had character issues. Tyreke had injury issues and hadn't yet proven that he could shoot 3 pointers well.Tyreke went to Memphis for $2.5M in the summer of 2017...
James Johnson went to a mediocre Miami team in 2016 for the minimum. It would've been hard to keep those guys but he doesn't convert on vets in the same way he does on younger players.
Ehhh... If he was as good as your advertising, we would've had Tyreke Evans on our team last year... James Johnson a couple years ago too

I love how you pay no attention to the point I'm trying make. Read bro. I'm saying he's good at finding young players in that mold, but not veterans. So if he doesn't get EVERY SINGLE "under the radar" guys that mean he's not good at finding them ? Come on now.
Chris Kaman and Mo WilliamsI love how you pay no attention to the point I'm trying make. Read bro. I'm saying he's good at finding young players in that mold, but not veterans.
Tonight my main thought on who needed to play more was why isnt Layman playing more why does it seem not to matter how good he’s playing. Meyers isnt used to that many minutes and clearly was getting abused by Olynk towards the end. Meyers played well for a while this isnt a shot at him.Sure could have used more of him tonight. Thanks Terry.

Not that Jake is scottie pippen but I think his body and athleticism was perfect for a match up with Olynk too.I agree. What was it for Jake? 7 in 4 or something?
His defense was terrible.Sure could have used more of him tonight. Thanks Terry.
His defense was terrible.
Bro, they were exactly what we paid for them. They were bench pieces, and Mo was extremely overrated here (awful defense, inefficient, didnt get to the line, etc). We paid $5M a year for Kaman which is now worth like $9M a year.Chris Kaman and Mo Williams
5 points in 13 minutes... He giving up more points than he was scoring. His defense is overlooked. He was scoring. We kind of needed more of that in the last half of the 4th. Not in garbage time.

Outside of Collins, is there a single Blazer this year you could say is playing good defense? His defense was terrible.

There wouldn't have been crunch time if we played him more because of how many more points they would've scored.Someone told me it was 4 points in 7 minutes.
Still, at least he's reliable in crunch time. Someone else wasn't.....
As a team they have got to figure out how to get Stops, that goes to the whole team, I'm not saying Stauskus is playing good defense because he isn't, but they've really sucked on defense and it appears like Stotts decided being top 10 last year meant they didn't need to work on defense anymore...There wouldn't have been crunch time if we played him more because of how many more points they would've scored.

You're not getting this. He was worse than the rest of them. Theres different levels of ineptitude. You're not getting this. Our Defense would have been the same had we played him. You can't sit there and say "well, if we had played him, they would have scored more". That's horseshit, because NOBODY outside of Collins was playing good Defense tonight.

This is how I know you weren't paying enough attention to this game...Dame plays NO Defense. By your logic, we should keep him out of the game too, huh?

You're better than comments like this.
I actually think Dame's defense while it will never be elite, has gotten much better. Of our guards he at least puts forth the most effort to stay in front of his guy.I'm not comparing Stauskas to Dame. I'm saying: neither of them play Defense. Arguing that putting Stauskas in over someone else would have ensured a victory for Miami is asinine.
You don't know if Stauskas would have scored 4 points or 24. But THUS FAR, he's been more reliable than most shooters on this team. Not all, MOST.

When he gets beat though, he doesn't quit on the play. When other guys on this team get beat they end up in no mans lands.I'll agree with that to a point. I think he stands around and gives up a lot more plays, particularly driving plays into the paint, than he should though.
