And neither is CJ when he says it would be a lateral move if one of them were traded.
We trade CJ to address our SF issue and suddenly we have a SG issue.
CJ values himself so highly and I like the confidence but more size with more defensive ability that can score isn't a lateral move to me. George for CJ last year wouldn't have been a lateral move in the least. CJ for Kawhi wouldn't be a lateral move. Someone who moved the ball more and involved teammates more while adding another aspect wouldn't be a lateral move.
They are supposed to be an elite back court and were entirely exposed. Part of that is because that is how they played all year and teammates aren't in the habit of stepping up. They are much more used to handing off and standing around watching CJ dribble.
