Steroids, other drugs found in bodies of wrestler, wife, son

Besides steroids, Benoit's body contained the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI said Benoit tested negative for blood alcohol.</p>

Benoit's wife, Nancy, tested positive for Xanax, hydrocodone and the painkiller hydromorphone.</p>

The son, Daniel, had Xanax in his system, the agency said. The GBI said it could not perform tests for steroids or human growth hormones on the son because of a lack of urine.</p>

The test results were expected to shed more light on Benoit's last moments. Authorities said Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son in their suburban Atlanta home, placed Bibles next to their bodies and then hanged himself on the cable of a weight machine.</div></p>

While I can understand someone speculating this was brought on by roid rage, anyone have a link of an article where someone forced Beniot and his family to take these drugs?</p>

<font size="2"><font face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">How the Benoit Saga is getting reported just goes to show how ignorant and bias the average reporter truly is. MSNBC is running a story with the title, "Steriods, other drugs in Benoit's body." Ohhhh. Of course, when you read the article, it says that there were no anabolic steriods found, just an elevated level of testosterone. The media has had an agenda to hang this murder on steriods and they aren't going to let a little thing, like the truth, stand in their way. The truth is that we will never know exactly why Chris Benoit murdered his family, but no one wants to hear that. Why? Because they're afraid. As long as blame could be hung on steriods, then people can sleep at night because they know their significant others aren't on the juice. If sterioids aren't to blame, then the mystery lives on and you have to wonder if someone you love could snap under certain conditions. Or worse. Could you snap under certain conditions? Let's not ask those kind of questions. Let's blame this on steriods even though testosterone is not an anabolic steriod and there is no evidence that elevated levels of testosterone can cause rage. Let's forget that these murders occured over the course of a day which is a rather long time for someone in a rage. Let's forget about the bibles and the Xanax in Daniel's system that suggests that Chris sedated him before killing him. Let's stick our heads in the sand and blame it on anabolic steriods because that's an easy cop out and we can reassure ourselves that this type of tragedy will never touch us or our loved ones.</font></font></p>

It seems like there are a lot of people dying at the hands of people, who are ready to commit suicide and want to take someone with them these days. I guess the idea that some people are going to commit these types of crimes and there is nothing that can be done about it is one way to look at it. Personally, I think it's worth trying to get at the root at what causes these types of crimes in order to try and help some of the people on the edge to avoid going over. If not for the person on the edge, then for the people that he/she is planning to take with them. I'm just tired of the media projecting the news rather than reporting it. They are doing us a real disservice.</font></font> </p>
