Steve Nash: Trade to Portland would be a "terrific situation"

Think how much better our fast breaks will be with Nash. Remember- we ran somewhat successfully at the start of the season but we couldn't keep it up because Felton didn't have the skills or stamina to consistently do it over the course of the season. Nash can do it.

"This is a great fit for me," Pippen said. "If I had my choice, I would probably choose this team because I feel like they're more on the verge of winning a championship."

He also asked to be traded here:

"Don't read anything into that," Sexton said of Pippen's silence. "After Scottie evaluated the situation in Portland, looked at their roster, what they did last year and the pieces they've added, he was excited. They'll have a legitimate chance to win the NBA championship."

Both of those quotes were take AFTER the trade was consummated, hardly convincing evidence that he asked to be traded to Portland when these kind of platitudes are thrown out all the time by players and agents to make it seem like the player couldn't be happier.

By the Way, if we fire Nate too, who would be the perfect available coach for our new Nash-led team? Paul Westphal, maybe?

Good lord. We don't run fast breaks because this team doesn't practice them. Felton was fine running the break in D'Antoni's offense and for Denver and for Charlotte ...

He asked to be traded already though. That was all over the press. So at least he said it was a great place and he was excited. Also, Crawford decided to come here.

Granted, we don't have time to practice them because of the compressed schedule, but why did we get worse as the season went on instead of better? Nash would fix things.

Love the avatar. So you want to come up to Portland at the end of March with me and my girl? We might see Steve Nash at the Rose Garden! LOL

Thanks. I'm going to NY game on the 14th. Not sure I can afford to get away again to go to Portland. I need to be in town for auditions.

Because, in his words, we have a "terrific situation."

Well the one thing Phoenix said is they won't trade Nash unless Nash requests a trade. And if he comes to Portland, then one would suspect he requested to be traded to Portland.

Oh that's a great arena and a lot of star power. Probably a better viewing... So we gonna lose that game? :P Just kidding buddy. Hope you know I'm just kidding with you about being a jinx at the games.

Yeah, I'm with nik...I don't see anything in that that suggests Pippen specifically wanted to go to Portland. He asked for a trade due to being unhappy in Houston, not due to having a deep desire to be in Portland.

I don't think he was faking being happy in Portland...it was a good roster and situation. I just doubt that he specifically asked to go to Portland, and I definitely remember him expressing interest in LA before he was dealt to Portland.

Mags and Eric could be brothers. I swear to god. You guys were separated at birth.

What happened to everyone's superstar in Batum tonight? Thought he was a game changer ; )

Someone will probably come in and talk about his potential and how we should give him $10 million/year as soon as possible....lol

RT @DwainPrice: The word on the streets is that the Mavs may trade Lamar Odom to Phoenix for Steve Nash. Gets Odom closer to his home in LA.

Odom? LOL. So now the deal with Felton, Wallace and Babbit looks pretty good for Nash and Childress

through Trades Maybe not, but that's fine. Would rather sign him next year and keep some talent. Him and LMA already have it planned out

Nash had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 17 assists tonight. He makes things so easy for Gortat. He could get some buckets for Camby and Joel!
