I wonder if the new person will be a fan? The Mikes were both fans, who wore their emotions on their sleeves, which a lot of fans loved about them...as well as some did not like. Calabro doesn't strike me as one who will be a "fan". He'll do a great job, and get excited, but in a more professional way.
I don't want that to come off as one is netter than the other, just an opinion on what will be.
Good. We don't need them to be fan boys like the Mikes. I like fair and objective announcers
I think both styles have value, and there would be value in both styles being represented in the broadcast team. A fair and objective PBP guy like Calabro paired with a more fan-centric color commentator would be great. And on the radio side, if they keep Wheels and return to a two-man team, I'd love to hear him paired with a more even-keeled color man.
