Carol King and Carly Simon may well be the best and most imaginative female lyricists and songwriters ever.

"Tapestry" is in my top 10 best albums of all...side A and side B. As fas as Carly Simon, "Another Passenger" is easily my fav of hers....side A and side B.
 
In the Ghetto ...written by Mac Davis but made famous by Elvis as his comeback hit following the Beatles wiping him off the charts.

I have always had a copy of that record...saw them live at Winterland or Philmore West...I forget which....really underrated band

You got me beat! Though Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds is a better set of story songs!
