Stotts and Mgmt: This is really starting to bug me

Nice efort tonight and yet the almost inevitable loss to Miami. Yes Jeffries had a nice game but in reality what does that do for our Future? Meyers does not get a minute, nor does Claver, nor does Barton. But guys who will very likely not be here play a lot - Jeffries and Sasha. Just What the FUK is goin on? What does this do for us? This pisses me off, thx for lettin me vent.

I brought this up during the game thread and was going to start a similar thread. Well stated.

What is the objective here? I mean, if you're going to bench Hickson, at least put in Leonard or Freeland instead of giving Jeffries minutes.

yep, we ain't winnin nothing this year, we should be given guys who will likely be here some decent quality minutes to gain experience and see what they got

The coaches job is always to play to win especially when you are a team on the edge of the playoffs and not a total bottom feeder. If they played it any other way then as we all know, they lose their job. Stotts did pretty good tonight, sadly, Miami turned it up, the refs fail at their jobs again and Batum no showed again.

I care more about developing Lillard than any of the rest, and I think playing in tight ball games with experienced players is going to be better for his overall development than playing alongside young guys in a blowout. Rather him develop ala Rose than Wall, basically. Learn good habits over bad.

LMA and Wes played 37 minutes tonight, Lillard and Batum 39, in perhaps the least winnable game of the year.

Have fun tomorrow night, Stotts. I'll also point out that this year's Asst/FG made stat is exactly the same as Nate's last full year as coach. So much for the
exciting brand of basketball' that we were all hoping to see.

Yes, I am pissed right now, but not at the players. Sometimes young players need to get blown out in order to learn as a group. Stotts seems very average to me at this point. How hard is it to ISO Lillard 39 mpg?

Lillard is developing just fine with real NBA players.

Jeffries, Price, and Pavovic are journeymen who are either past their prime, or aren't going to have an NBA prime.

The bench wasn't really in during crunch time, unless you count Pavlovic getting dunked on by James.

great, they kept us close enough with help from the starters minus Hickson. I don't need the bench in at the end. I said I want Lillard in crunch time situations. PLaying better players earlier in the game helped that be a reality. We don't know if Claver or Leonard would have had a negative impact, but we do know our bench played decent tonight, and helped us stay close throughout. I want Lillard playing in those type of games, personally.

Exactly this. Now it's up to Olshey to to either force Stott's hand by trading away some of his "crutch" players, or they have to have a sit-down at some point when Olshey decides that the playoffs are out of reach and it's time to go into development mode. Frankly though, aside from Leonard, I don't think Olshey much cares how guys like Claver, Freeland, Smith and Babbitt contribute, the latter two guys are almost definitely gone this summer and the former two aren't his picks, so there's no reason to be invested in them.

If Hickson gets moved by the deadline (which seems remote) you'll definitely see more Leonard, taking some of the decision making out of Stotts' hands. If Hickson stays and Leonard can't get on the court and the losses continue to mount then who knows what the hell is going on.

only disagreement is that Pav-Jeffries-Price and even babbit IMO realistically cannot do anything at his point to change there trade value, that is a pipe dream IMO. I'd prefer to keep this year's pick and try to add value to guys who will be here next yr like Leonard-Claver-Freeland-Barton by playing them. I see both sides, this route is my preference.
