You know what fellas, if you were that game like I was, exhausted from standing and cheering and groaning for an hour, and you saw a move that looked brilliant, and you didn't know Mo had gotten hurt because you hadn't heard that or seen the post game interviews, you might make a post giving the coach props too. Obviously I didn't know Mo was hurt and Stotts had no choice or I wouldn't have started this thread, would I?
So bully to all of you for feeling so smugly superior.
At least I got to see the game!
Which begs the question... Which game will peopke say they were at when they really weren't. Game 5 of round 1, or game 3 of round 2? Both were epic as hell.
I saved everything from both games, the game program, press pass, stat sheets, name plaque from my seat, lol.
Did it say "bad dog" on the plaque?
Theres a little irony in calling the people who responded to you as acting smugly superior, while reminding all of us that weren't at the game that you were there...You know what fellas, if you were that game like I was, exhausted from standing and cheering and groaning for an hour, and you saw a move that looked brilliant, and you didn't know Mo had gotten hurt because you hadn't heard that or seen the post game interviews, you might make a post giving the coach props too. Anyways, I agree with you that Stotts has done a good job this post season, and Im genuinely happy for you that you got to see that live, thats a once in a lifetime experience.
It might be, I apologized and I can delete if neccesary. It may be me but i felt that was sarcasm.
I was at the game and I was the one who told Stotts to pull Mo and put in Hood.
Okay, I didn't really tell him, it was more like we locked eyes from across the arena. That deep gaze we shared and suddenly we were soulmates, basketball soulmates. I'll have to put him on the Christmas card list now.

So you might not know another fun storry from postgame interviews.
“I just felt pretty good, you know I was telling Gary Trent and Ant (Anfernee Simons) that if I got a chance, I was going to end it.” Hood said. Hood's third consecutive shot, a three-pointer, at the 1:07 mark of the final OT was one of the biggest shots in Hood's basketball career.
All in all, I really think it must be huge pressure for Stotts, when he must know (because all world knows about fresh legs) but he afraid to change things. He got lucky with Hood.
But, in my opinion, something has drasticly changed in Stotts coaching not that long ago - and this change was good. I don't know the reason. He could go out and say: "I would like to take props for that, but..."
It looks like he got his act together. I was on "fire Stotts" banwagon for long time, but I'm one leg out of it cos of this sudden change.
Im confused. He did go out and say exactly that lol.
RODNEY HOOD
On dealing with the stress of playing four overtime periods:
“I just felt pretty good, you know I was telling Gary Trent that if I got a chance, I was going to make it. They bring me in to be a fresh hand, and I can make a difference, so I was excited to go back in in the fourth overtime.”
On hitting the go-ahead shot in the fourth overtime:
“It’s up there. It’s one of the biggest moments, and obviously it’s the playoffs—I’ve hit game-winners and big shots before, but this one means a lot, especially going back into the game after being out for a while…”
On taking some of the biggest shots in the game:
“We were kind of struggling to get some baskets in the fourth overtime, and like I said I had fresh legs, and me in the post, I can really matchup against anybody…I got my first bucket to go down, and coach kept going to me, and then C.J. [McCollum] is a hell of a player getting rebounds, so I think that’s a big thing that we talk about, is just trusting each other…”
On what it means to redeem himself in this year’s playoffs after last year:
“It means a lot—I stayed patient, I didn’t get down on myself even when a lot of people did…trusting God, I just didn’t give up, didn’t give up on myself, I just kept playing, kept working…I had no idea I’d end up in Portland in this type of situation, but to be here and to have my family in the crowd, I saw the sad faces the last go-around, so to be here is very emotional for me, to be quite frank. A lot more basketball to get through right now.”
You know what I've been contemplating about Game 5? Everyone wishes they were there but what if there was some butterfly effect shit and if one person in the crowd was different the whole game goes differently and we never have the Dame game winner.Stevenson, its like I felt all game 5 against okc. All these playa being questioned and i was like "I got to see the shot!"

It didn't say anything. You have to read it.Did it say "bad dog" on the plaque?
I was talking about Stotts saying that about the whole season, not just Hood sub.So you might not know another fun storry from postgame interviews.

Honestly, the appeal of attending games is sort of lost on me. Traffic, crowds, much worse view of the action than from home unless you have great seats... Watching the game on TV, it was obvious Moe was cramping a possession or two before he was subbed out. He was gingerly stretching his hamstrings near the free throw line and was trying to not limp on his way to the sideline.
I don't know what your view was like, though, and I do tend to notice those things more than most people.
No argument there - I certainly appreciate his defensive adjustments. Big time reason the OKC series was won so quickly! The defensive improvement is marked..
In that case, I'd like to take credit for winning G3. Me being there was an improbable last-minute fluke - that fluke lead us to victory! You know what I've been contemplating about Game 5? Agree. I'm super happy I was able to be at the game - but in terms of WATCHING a game, TV is almost always superior for getting the full context and a good view of all the action. Looking forward to watching today's game on TV. Also, my throat is still fucked this morning (and arms shoulders still sore). I won't even be able to yell at the TV today - there's no way I could cheer at the game even if I were lucky enough to fall into some tickets again.Honestly, the appeal of attending games is sort of lost on me. We finished regular season with the 6 best offense in the league. Slightly ahead of Denver and Boston. No argument there - I certainly appreciate his defensive adjustments. Big time reason the OKC series was won so quickly!
However, his offense has always sucked* and continues to suck*. Funny that a guy known as an "offensive genius" is actually better at defense.
*Yes, "suck" might be slightly overstating it. But regardless of any hyperbole his offense is not good.

So does @dviss1 LOL.
