I'll second that.

i just want to see him play..it looks like frank is just doing everything in his power to resist playing him....he even went ahead and played malik allen over BOKI who has been on a tear last couple of games

Not bad actually. His first shot attempt went in. I like how he contests shots

Sean Williams like.

He has a Sean Williams developed game.

The range from outside which he uses his pump fake to get an easier basket. This is good for Sean too IMO.

how the **** does malik play over swift?

Because Frank wants to keep it safe?

Swift just got here. He hasn't practiced with the team before today. I think its a bit premature to get hysterical that he hasn't solidified his rotation position; how could he? I want to see him play, no doubt about that, but you've got to be sensible about the whole thing. Now if this continues after a period, I'll join in the rantings

Without any real knowledge of our offense I was still more impressed by 2 mins of Stromile Swift than 15 mins of Krstic.

How the fuck does Malik play over anyone?

it's amazing this guy steps into NJ and seriously I hope who I saw tonight is the Swift that we continue to have all year. Stro played those 1 minute and change w/ heart his help D, closing out the 2 layups Dallas tried, then the block on Howard and the face up jumper we prayed for Collins to hit every game. What I liked about it is he worked hard and Sean got himself another boost after seeing Swift play.

Anyone who doesn't like the trade for Swift take the exit ramp out of NJ.

He actually looks happy here. He's a fan favourite before doing anything. Can't wait to see more.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Stromile Swift hasn’t made an impact yet, but you have to believe his time will come. Acquired last week, Swift will go through his first full practice as a Net today and it will be his last until after the All-Star break.

I agree with many of you that he should get his feet wet, especially with Kidd, who will utilize Swift’s athletic gifts. But Frank continues to say it’s difficult to acclimate Krstic and throw Swift out there.

“At some point we're going to see what Stromile can do,” Frank said.

We keep hearing Swift’s game is close to Williams – Swift swatted a Juwan Howard shot into the stands - but Frank said he could see them playing together at some point.

“I think there's potential for it,” Frank said. “Stromile, even though he's seven years in the league, he's brand new here. But that's something we'll look at down the line. [They’re] two athletic guys, both a little bit light, getting moved around a bit but hopefully their quickness and athleticism will be another area of strength”</div>

first time I agree w/ a Frank move pairing Stro w/ A-51 those 2 w/ the energy off the bench swatting shots and helping w/ the 1/2 court press I mean that's my image right now.

That's not surprising at all. While he might not be a top-notch player, he sure is an entertaining one. I mean, what fan doesn't enjoy watching dunking and blocking, among other things?

I'm just crossing my fingers that he'll actually show the desire to try to learn our plays, and figure out how to play actual defense.

I'm really starting to like Stro now. He needs to be given Malik's minutes and be played with Swat more often. I think the two compliment each other actually.

He had a great block last night. He seems longer than Williams, but not as explosive (getting up on the block). Williams just appears out of no where.

He's just one of those guys that deserves something good to happen to him here in Jersey. 7 years in Vancouver/Memphis should put him in line for something good

Swift and Swilliams together would be awesome to see evry night off the bench.

i been hoping since we got him for big wins so that we could at least see him in garbage mins and weve been lucky. hes been fun to watch even for that 1min or 2 the past few games.

He brings excitement and energy to the floor. Im hoping he has an active role off the bench after the all star break.

So do u guys still want Collins back? lol the best part about not having collins on the team is not giving lawrence frank the stupid option of actually starting him. good riddance

I'm annoyed how Frank is not welcoming of new players. He didn't accept Mags at all, it took him a while to give Sean some minutes. And now Swift is barely getting 2 minutes a game.

I'm just glad to see a player in garbage minutes that actually looks like he has some skills. You can totally see the difference between Swift and Magloire. I know it's just garbage minutes, but if you never shine against another teams scrubs then I really wonder if you even belong in the NBA.

Mark my words, Frank will find some room for him. He must see he's a better player than Allen. If he can hit the jumperhe will take his minutes. Is Swift better than Boone, Krstic, and Sean Williams? Too hard to tell right now. Better than Allen? Absolutely. With Allen's minutes we'll see if he moves up the ladder.

Frank is just going to do it slowly because he knows guys are use to finding Allen for those jumpers. He doesn't want to take too many things away from the guys on the floor. Like I said, if Swift hits the 10-15' jumper he's in, which I think he can do.

Can Swift run the floor? He's never really been in a running offense. You team him with Kidd and Krstic. Krstic grabbing the boards and Swift filling a lane.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Kidd Karma @ Feb 11 2008, 05:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Can Swift run the floor? He's never really been in a running offense. You team him with Kidd and Krstic. Krstic grabbing the boards and Swift filling a lane.</div>

Swift can run the floor pretty well. I'd like to see him play with Williams but putting him with Krstic might be a safer combination. I haven't seen much of the Nets' bigs yet, but Stro is definitly worthy of more PT on that team.

If playing 2 minutes at the end of games is what ''adaptation'' is to coach Frank, I don't care. But I hope he'll get more than just garbage minutes pretty soon.

Welcome to the world of Coach Frank, where minutes and playing time even puzzles, the Nobel Peace Prize Winners for Intelligence.

I think the ideal combo is Krstic and Swift starting, Boone and SWAT off the bench.

i dont understand how the **** malik plays over swift.

To quote myself from earlier in the thread:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Netted)</div><div class='quotemain'>Frank is just going to do it slowly because he knows guys are use to finding Allen for those jumpers. His minutes are already down since Nenad has come back. Lawrence loves defense too much to not notice how bad Allen is, but he just needs jumpshooters to make the offense work sometimes. Unfortunately he only has 2 on the bench (Boki and Allen). Sean coming off the bench will also cut down on Allen's minutes. He'll be 12th man in about a month.

Malik is playing for the same reason that Cliff Robinson played. Frank loves jump-shooting big men, even if they can't do anything else.
