The Bakersfield Jam (18-9) fought back from 14 down in the first half and earned a 115-109 home victory against the Austin Toros (14-11). Three Jam players finished with double-doubles: Brian Butch (26 points, 13 rebounds), Damion James (23 points, 13 rebounds), Jerel McNeal (21 points, 10 assists).

The Jam beat the Toros in a tale of two halves. Austin led by as many as 14 points in the second quarter but a late Jam run saw the Toros' lead cut in half at the break (61-54). Austin shot 57% to the Jam's 47% in the first half, knocking down 5-of-9 from three-point land. Bakersfield then turned it around in the second half, outscoring Austin 28-24 in the third and 33-24 in the fourth. The Jam shot 54% in that second half to Toros' 39%. Bakersfield outrebounded Austin 47-40 and only committed a season-low seven turnovers in the victory.

Along with Butch, James and McNeal, Renaldo Major scored 12 points.

The Toros were led by San Antonio Spurs assignee Aron Baynes who recorded a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Roberts scored 17 points, while Cory Joseph (Spurs assignee) had 16 points and five assists. Tre Kelly contributed 13 points off the bench.

Bakersfield and Austin will face each other again tomorrow Saturday, February 2 at 7 p.m. PT in Bakersfield.
