So, no actual news yet. No actual charges, and no idea of what he's pleading guilty to.
 
The age of consent in most states is 16. Having it be 18 is way too high. Because basically, you are saying there are no circumstances where a 17 year old girl can have sex without it being a crime. And girls around that age can be come very sexual. I know that fact doesn't mesh well with our society, but it's still a biological fact.

I think you have to be careful lowering the age of consent. That being said, it should be uniform across the country.

I agree that a 42 year old having sex with a consenting 16 year old...if thats the legal age in said state, is creepy, but maybe shouldnt be illegal.

My biggest issue with age is the drinking age. If youre old enough to die for your country, you should be old enough to buy beer

Well, that argument made sense when there was the draft because men didn't have a choice (outside of medical reasons, and a few others).

If you enlist, sure, drink at 18. if not, quitcherbitching.

I see your point, but disagree. If the country is willing to take 18 year olds to fight with their lives, they should also allow them to buy beer.
 
Maybe. Probably also see the number of teenagers dying for their country if they raised the age you can enlist.
 
I would rather raise the age of the draft to 21yrs old then lower the drinking age to 18.
 
Ya, for anyone with an agenda, im not advocating either way. Just always thought it was dumb that boys could die for the freedom of others, but not buy beer

I get that he is a creep and a vile human, but a part of me feels bad for people like him. It has to be some sort of sickness or mental disfunction.

Pedophilia is considered a mental disorder, and has been so classified since 1968. Of course, up until 1973, homosexuality was considered a mental disorder as well. Make of that what you will.

The plan that Jared "The Subway Guy" Fogle announced in 2008 was like so many things about him: big, inspirational and, it would turn out, false.

A top celebrity spokesman worth $15 million, Fogle said he wanted to promote more than sandwiches. His non-profit foundation would distribute $2 million to schools and community organizations to fight the condition that had plagued Fogle for years, childhood obesity.

But the Jared Foundation has not issued a single grant, records show.

From 2009 through 2013, the foundation spent just $73,000 a year on average. Sixty percent of the money went to the executive director's salary, and 26% is unaccounted for, according to foundation tax records.

The foundation also hasn't paid the State of Indiana a $5 annual registration fee since 2008, the year the Jared Fogle Healthy Lifestyle Nationwide School Grant Program was supposed to begin. Delinquency notices were ignored. In 2012, the Indiana Secretary of State dissolved the foundation, though the IRS still recognizes it.

Never ate a single Subway when I started my weight loss. Not because of calories. Because they taste like shit. I can make a better sandwich in 5 minutes. And have the advantage of knowing what goes into it.
